| We are a couple very much in love but in extreme financial difficulty. I Mike, am a self-employed home improvement contractor. At this time there do not seem to be any prospects of work. The economy is bad and that hurts my type of work. My draws for payment come at the end of each job I complete and the last one I completed was in December 2002. My wife Maggie was put into the hospital in January for surgery. It was reconstructive surgery to rewire her breast bone back together. Last year she had 4 way by pass surgery, which is a whole other story in itself. The wires they used originally had all come undone and the whole procedure to reconstruct her breast bone and rib cage had to be completetly redone. This second surgery went well until an infection set in and she is still fighting that. There is an open wound in her chest that just won't seem to heal properly. She is going to the hospital three times a week for treatments to heal this infection and close this wound. Right now the best the doctors are saying is we will see where we are in a couple of weeks. While she is struggling to get here life back together, she also, has no income and no job to return to when she is better. The place where she was working has since closed. So as it stands we are on the brink of loosing everying we have including a roof over our head and felt this was a good place to turn.
