The name “SOO BAHK DO” would more closely reflect the current state of evolution of our “ LIVING ART” and be in harmony with our MOO DO history and the Kwan Jang Nim Hwang Kee’s Wishes.
The increased use of the Soo Bahk Do name reflects the unique emphasis and contributions of Korean Soo Bahk Ki and Kwan Jang Nim Hwang Kee, as representative in the standardized IL Soo Sik Dae Ryun, Ho Sin Sool, Da Soo In Dae Ryun, The Yuk Ro and Chil Sung Hyungs and Hwa Sun Hyung. This art and its names are truly unique and we as members, practitioners and instructors will have the opportunity to create its future history. Regardless of the name we use to identify ourselves in the world, it will remain the same organization you have belonged to for many years. The name has been changed only for the purpose of international standardization and to promote better recognition of the evolution of our “LIVING ART”.-Lawrence Seiberlich Chil Dan, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. |
