What Do Lions Club Members Do?
The Lions Club of Highfields North Eastern Downs Inc. places a real emphasis on fun and fellowship with its commitment to community service, especially at the local level.

Since its Charter in 1988, some of the Club's activities have included:-
Working with Crows Nest Shire Council to build:-
- A toilet block at Plaza Park, Highfields
- Playground equipment at the Highfields aquatic centre and in local parks
- A BBQ at Volp Park, Meringandan
- Several bus shelters from Geham to Highfields and at Meringandan
- A restored historical well at Cabarlah

Club meetings are held at 7:00pm for 7:30pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at the Highfields Tavern, corner of Highfields and O'Briens Rd, Highfields. Club meetings usually include an optional dinner, organising of Club business and activities, and often include guests and guest speakers on interesting and relevant topics.
While the above might be what we've done in the past, what we do in the future is limited only by the imagination and commitment of the Club's members!
