Yeah, it's the same thing as dan's poll, but in this one you could post your opinions. I say ban him because of all the random havoc he's causing... <_<

Ok, yeah, I know. He's Henry... but still. People who don't know him don't know about all the weird stuff he does and could be turned away from the boards when they see all the stuff he posted (or will post).

Anybody who dosent know henry, probably dosent know us. And anybody who dosent know us, can just kind of evade this place. Since yeah...its kind of centric on people who go to barnstable/know each other.

Also I'll be damned if I'm gonna explain what everything is to some random libertarian from vermont, who comes in here with his cardigan sweaters yelling at me about a flat tax. I wont stand for this unchecked aggression.

Im digressing from the real purpose of this. This rising feud between henry and various other elements here is giving me a headache. And not the fun kind I get from watching stalker, or eating meat thats gone bad, or even inhaling too much black powder smoke. The other kind, the mydol kind. That kind.

Im voting no, because....Yeah, this is just....no, all of it. Why, Im not seeing this.

Guests visit this site all the time... -_-

You're right, in a sense it is centered on BA students, but other people do visit this board, people who could be turned away by what henry posts. So, in the end, you're going to end up with a board flooded with posts from henry that don't pertain to any... um... comprehensible topic that's completely centered on BA students OR you could have a board like the way things were before henry "arrived" (he was here before, but didn't post anything), and have it semi-centered on BA students AND still have the guests that view the photoshop/CS/gunbound boards and maybe even join to post on them.

Arjun was right, actually. I've been noticing people getting more and more annoyed with Henry as time passes, me included.

Yeah, I thought this was...the guests were all centric to this school. I dont know, because the word "IP" acually confuses the hell out of me.

Main Entry: devil's advocate
Function: noun
Etymology: translation of New Latin advocatus diaboli
Date: 1760
1 : a Roman Catholic official whose duty is to examine critically the evidence on which a demand for beatification or canonization rests
2 : a person who champions the less accepted cause for the sake of argument

Incredibly pertinant to what I was saying.

Its not my board, so yeah, no real say in anything. Yeah, peanut gallery.

IPs are like...if I want to stalk you...online? I use those.

It's like your address. With which people can stalk you.

It's a stalking thing.

in other words, ban henry for talking like he always does.

Let me rephrase that:

Ban Dan because he talks too much about riced out cars. (other people have NO CLUE WHAT RICE IS)
Ban Alex because his vocabulary is based on Ferguson's vocab sheets
Ban
Ban me because I like pirates
Ban Nikki because Nikki well I don't know what she does

This poll, as to quote Alex:

this referrendum to ban henry? theres a word describing it, begins with an "H", and ends with "omosexual" but apparently we're not supposed to quote him now.

so prattling on about your television habits doesn't turn people off? Oh, I guess if it's because it's boring and disgusting instead of confusing to the uninformed then it's ok.

nikki should be banned because her divinity conflicts with the ruinous powers present on this board. it's not like there's a bad reaction, it just clashes.

Nikki is right.

IP = Internet Protocol
Usually used with TCP (transfer communications protocol)

A more specific definition -
An IP address could be related to a house's address, and your ISP (aol, verizon, optimum, whatever) is like the mail service, delivering whatever information someone else sends or requests from you.

Example:
If I wanted to send you an IM, my message is first routed from my computer to the AOL Instant Messenger server, where it then finds out that you're online, and what your "address" is - then it sends the message to your "address" and the message shows up on your screen.

Tons of technology behind the scenes that we take for granted every day...

IP addresses can also be used if someone wants to find out what your geographical ("real") location is, or if they want to "stalk" you by tracking information that comes out of your IP address, which is known as "packet sniffing" (I think).

When you see "ban his IP address" on a message board or game server, it means basically to ban any requests to the server from that computer. Of course, if you use dial-up, you have a static IP address which means it changes every time you sign on. Why? Because when you disconnect, your IP is no longer needed, so your ISP gives it to someone else. Your ISP does this because it's computers can only give out a certain number of IP addresses, and it's more cost effective to do this.

The smaller the ISP, the less computers they'll need to assign these addresses. That's PARTLY why no-name dial-up ISPs are so cheap.

Cable or DSL ISPs, on the other hand, use dynamic IP addresses, meaning one is assigned to you permanently (permanently meaning until you stop using their company for internet anymore). Your Cable/DSL connection is always connected, and that's why your IP address can't be given to someone else. You could use a router to share that IP address within your house/company, but I won't go into that. Cable/DSL ISPs cost more because it's more expensive to maintain the connection to your house and because they need A LOT more computers and more expensive, larger computers to handle all the connections, which is partially the reason for sub-stations...

I'm confusing myself, but I feel as though I've gotten the general idea across... anyway, I've COMPLETELY strayed from this topic - banning Henry - which I think, even though he's "being himself" that... well.. read my above post.
