Nectar combines the elements of Rock, Pop, Funk, Jazz, Heavy Metal, and even Hip Hop. Nectar was formed in the fall of 2002 with members Rick Hernandez on lead vocals and guitar, Henry Jasso on bass and vocals, Steve Selby on sax, and Mark Nemec on drums and percussion. Members of the band bring an original sound and style that adds to the ensemble of sounds they produce. Band members Henry and Rick have been making music together for the past three years with Nectar being their newest project. Recent additions to the band, Steve and Mark both have exceptional talent, with a background that brings the band to a new inspirational level. Nectar writes each song step-by-step, soul with soul. They capture the diversities of their influences to make music everyone can groove to and enjoy. Nectar has played with such acts as Fenway Park, Lylah, and New Mexican Erection. The band continues to play gigs in and around their hometown of Las Cruces, New Mexico. With the production of their debut CD, Nectar looks forward to playing venues all around the Southwest and the country. |
