la la la la...almost finished this fic (wahoo!) I HAD to add in Miroku and Shippo, even just briefly. I would have added in Sango too...but I haven't met her yet (next manga she comes in!).
*Kikyo*
I should be feeling jealous, right? If only Naraku hadn't done what he did, I would have been beside Inu-yasha. Life is full of "if only's".
No matter how hard I search myself inside, I cant find the feelings of the past. I feel satisfied, seeing Kagome and Inu-yasha together. She is accomplishing what I never could.
I lean back against the tree trunk and take a break from being their silent angel. It has been a while since I relaxed, and took the time to think. I close my eyes and try to ignore the person tapping on my shoulder.
"Miss?"
There's no escape from people sometimes,
"Yes?" I smile sweetly and look up. Before me are more of Inu-yasha's companions.
"Will you bear my child?" the young monk asks innocently.
My jaw drops, and I stare in a disgusted manner at him. Two different fists connect with his head at once. One being a small fox demon's, and the other being mine. The monk falls to the ground and lies still.
"I hope we didn't hurt him..." I murmur, and lean over the fallen form
"Naw. Miroku will live." The little fox demon freezes at the site of something, or some one, behind my back.
"Heeeey...What are YOU guys doing here?!" Inu-yasha cracks his knuckles
"eheh! Hi Inuyasha! Kagome!" The little demon leaps into her arms
"Shippo!"
Later
Kagome's mother gives us a light meal, and after tugging once on a very annoyed Inu-yasha's ear, leaves. The monk sits up very recovered, and together, he and Shippo dig in. Inu-yasha flicks his eyes back and forth between Kagome and I, while rocking his chair back and forth. I feel nervous under his observant eye, and busy myself by eating rice. Miroku lets out a sigh and picks up his staff, with it he knocks Inu-yasha off the chair. I take it that the creaking noise got on his nerves as well.
"Um...come on Kikyo! Lets get dressed." Kagome stands up and pulls me through the door.
"You guys better behave!" She threatens in a way that would scare any sensible person.
"Meh..." Is her only reply.
Kagome tears apart her closet, muttering about extra school uniforms.
"Aha! Finally found it!" She withdraws a long-sleeved uniform identical to hers and hands it to me. I stare at the skirt
"I-I can't wear something this short!"
"Sure you can! Please Kikyo! I wanna see what you look like in it!"
I hesitate, but go and change. When I come back Kagome, who is already in her uniform, grins.
"I really like it!" I say as I inspect my reflection, "They're comfortable."
"Of course! That's why I wear them all the time!"
We walk back into the room, where the guys are currently knocking each over the head.
"Gad!" Kagome yells, "Can't I leave you guys alone for a few minutes?!"
Inuyasha seems frozen by the sight of us.
"Well!" Miroku says calmly, "You certainly look alike in those outfits."
I send him a frosty look, to tell him he's not yet forgiven for the offending question.
"Let's watch TV!" Kagome jumps up and down joyfully. I guess she really missed her...TV, because she hugs it before putting a small box into a bigger box. Moving pictures shoot across the screen, and I jump. I'm not the only one, Miroku and Shippo draw back in shock. Where as Inuyasha jumps down and stares at the people in the box.
"Ranma 1/2!" Kagome says
"Waitaminute! Wasn't that girl a guy a second ago?!"
At this, the monk and fox demon drift over and listen to Kagome's explanation of the plot. All four of them turn their faces, and intently watch the flashing of scenes. I walk out of the room, out of the house in fact. Just before I leave the courtyard, Sota comes running "Kikyo!" he calls, "Want to go for a walk? I can show you around our world!"
I nod, and he slips his hand in mine. Together we walk out of Kagome's home. On the way, he chatters about 'school' and 'cars', what ever those are.
"Cars might scare you a bit Kikyo, but don't worry! They won't hurt you if you're careful!"
I shall not be afraid of cars...I shall not...AAAA!
"Calm down Kikyo." Sota's muffled voice says through my tight grip on him.
"Sorry!" I bow slightly to him, and then run headlong into a person.
"Kagome!" cries the boy I ran into happily
I stare at him blankly, "Eeehhh?"
"Oh my, is your amnesia that bad?"
I blink at him once or twice, before getting the impression I should play along. A small kick from Sota helps too.
"What's your name again?"
"Hojo!" His face appears to be stuck in an evergoing smile.
"Heh...heh. Well see you...Hojo!"
I grab Sota, who is watching our exchange with obvious amusement, and run like there's no tomorrow. Gasping for breath, I turn a corner and stop in my tracks. "How?" We're right back where we started.
"You just took a run around the block Kikyo." Sota states matter-of-factly. He pats my shoulder reassuringly, then pulls me to a tree.
"Come on!" He says, "Let's climb up!"
He makes his way upwards, and after a quick prayer, I follow. We seat ourselves and look out at the view.
"Your world is amazing," I say dreamily "But I wish I could show you mine."
