Earth Dragon Balls
These Dragon Balls are found on Earth. They can grant two wishes and can bring multiple people back with a single wish, but they can't revive someone more than once so be careful. It takes 10 days for these balls to regenerate and 4 days to find one dragon ball. Once you find these you must let someone else find them before you can look for them again.

Namek Dragon Balls
These Dragon Balls are found on Planet Namek. They can grant three wishes instead of one, but only one person can be revived at a time. The Dragon Balls can also bring back someone more than just one time. There's a catch though, the only people able to summon the dragon and make a wish from it is a Namek. So, if you aren't a Namek and you need to make a wish, bring along a Namek ally to wish for you or ask Dende if you are training with him on that planet. If you don't have a Namek ally or you aren't with Dende, you will be given a week to find Dende. The Dragon Balls regenerate after 2 weeks and it takes 8 days to find one dragon ball. Once you find these you must let someone else find them before you can look for them again.

Black Star Dragon Balls
These Dragon Balls are first introduced in Dragon Ball GT. They are found on numerous planets so it takes a long time to find them. These balls can do two things. One thing is Grant five wishes to the person who finds them and they have the same capabilities as the Namek Dragon Balls except you can wish in any language. The other use is that you can absorb the Dragon Balls for a tremendous boost of power for a short time. Each Dragon Ball has a number of stars on it counting from 1 to 7. Each star counts as 20 000 for your power level. (Example: If you obsorb the #5 ball, you get 100,000 added to your power level.) It may not seem much, but if you absorb all the Dragon Balls, your Power Level will be boosted by 560,000 which is a BIG difference. You can only keep the Dragon Balls absorbed in you for 2 weeks and they are finally regenerated after 3 weeks. Takes 10 days to find one dragon ball. Once you find these you must let someone else find them before you can look for them again.
