Learning to Fly

They just didn't stop crying. One wanted food, one wanted to be held, one was being tormented by Sana. It just went on and on. Satsuki collapsed onto the couch and let out a muffled groan. He was tired beyond belief and sore all over. He loved the little darlings more than anything, but having four at once was insane. He was going to cry when they started walking and getting into things.

Kyo walked in the room with four bottles balanced in his arms, hands holding a diaper bag. He sighed, placing the items on the table before extending a hand to the crying Hitsugi, who tugged on it like his life depended on his father being closer right now. Ignoring the baby's wish, he reached for his mate with the other hand, rubbing his lower back, kneading the tense muscles. "Come on, my little angel, there's no giving up now. It's almost bed time for the darlings here."

"Like they sleep." Satsuki muttered before rolling off the couch and getting up to take Sana and Shou and feed them. It was true, even if some of them slept, all it took was one of them to wake up and cry.

Kyo sighed, placing both Rose and Hitsugi in front of him and handing them the bottles, tiny hands already holding it well. They were getting fed and it was warm in the living room, a comforting fire in the fireplace, making the fluffy rug look really inviting... Or maybe it was just his tired mind, since a place on the hard floor was hardly inviting some months ago. The demon reached at Satsuki again with his right hand, using it to hold his face on place as he leaned to kiss the soft cheek for a long while, dropping a few more kisses afterwards. "I know you're tired, but we can do it, ok?" He trusted Satsuki, but a little voice inside his head was whispering bad things about him leaving and not standing the pressure, a voice Kyo made his best effort to silence, but was always gnawing on the back of his mind.

Satsuki nodded a bit and leaned against Kyo some as the babies finished up their bottles. He then changed them for bed and picked up two of the babies to take upstairs to their nursery while he left the other two for Kyo to take up.

Kyo followed him closely, yawning as he climbed, giving a longing look to his bedroom, the door only slightly open to show a inviting, huge, fluffy bed. "Maybe we should ask the Inn lady to take care of them for one night..." He knew it was crazy, since the babies wings came out when they as much as hiccuped, but in his fuzzy mind, it seemed like a wonderful idea.

"You know we can't." Satsuki said as he laid the babies down in their cribs. He kissed them all good night, sighing in relief when they were all set in to bed. He couldn't wait to get at least a few hours sleep.

Kyo kissed his kids too, pulling Satsuki by the hand once he was done. He turned off the lights but left the door open, just in case. In the hallway, he hugged the angel close, just breathing in his scent for a long moment, then kissing his forehead. "You go get ready for bed, I'm going to check the house before joining you." His voice was nothing more then a whisper, his body longing for a litte sleep beside his love. But Kyo knew he would never fall into a peaceful slumber without checking around the manor first, the demon was still afraid of a rescuing army coming for his mate.

Satsuki nodded sleepily and pulled Kyo close, kissing him lightly on the lips. "Don't take too long." He said, before pulling away from Kyo and heading into their bedroom to change into his night clothes.

Kyo sighed and turned around, opening every door down the hallway. Everything was clear, so he walked down the stairs, doing the same on every room before going outside. One slow walk around the manor, searching the skies and trees, and he was ready for bed.
"There's nothing there...There never is." He said to his mate once he was inside the room. "But I can't make myself to stop checking anyway..." He was feeling a little annoyed with himself, but tried to push it aside.

Satsuki smiled and lifted the covers to invite Kyo in, wanting to snuggle up to his mate and enjoy the warmth before one of them had to get up to tend to crying babies.

Kyo moaned in delight at the sight, quickly stripping to his underwear instead of going to find pajamas. He sighed when he slipped on the bed, immediately holding Satsuki close to himself. "Damn, feels good." Not satisfied yet, he leaned down to kiss the angel's lips, a real, long, warm, moist kiss, not like the ones they've been exchanging all day.

Satsuki closed his eyes and practically purred at the kiss that they had been neglecting to give each other. He had missed this, the moments for just the two of them.

Kyo moaned, rolling on top of Satsuki. He could use a little relaxing before going to sleep, even if he was feeling quite apprehensive about starting anything with the huge chance of any of the babies crying anytime.

Satsuki allowed Kyo to roll on top of him, but he was ready to push him away if he needed to. Not that he wanted to, but the babies were the most important thing at the moment.

Seconds before Kyo took Satsuki's shirt off, he heard the faint sound of a giggling baby, soon followed by a loud crying. With a grunt, he cut off the kiss, taking in a deep breath before looking down the hallway from his place on the mattress. "Oh fuck..." Hitsugi was gliding softly out of the room, his tiny wings barely keeping him in the air.

The blonde demon tried to get up, getting tangled on the sheets for a second before running to get his baby. "Does this count as first steps?" He was a little dizzy with the situation, looking at his mate with a stupid expression on his face.

"First flight, it's very important." Satsuki said as he rolled out of bed to help Kyo catch the flying Hitsugi.

Kyo jumped as high as he could and got hold of a little foot, pulling Hitsugi down gently, giggling as he saw the baby moving his wings faster to try getting back in the air. "Now, now... Enough little one. It's quite a distance for one so small." He smiled up at his mate, but quickly let it fall at seeing Sana and Shou gliding out of the nursery door. Inside, Rose was crying loudly, moving his wings desperately in a failed attempt to join his brothers.

Satsuki giggled and let his wings form, giving them a few flaps before he lifted enough into the air to catch Sana and Shou in his arms. "We may have to strap them down at night." He joked.
Kyo looked up to his mate with a half smile, walking to stay under him and letting go of Hitsugi, who was pointing to Satsuki. "Go to mama." He was amused at the situation, but Rose needed some attention.

Satsuki easily caught Hitsugi in his arms too, kissing his babies again and cooing to them proudly, so glad that they were able to fly already. They were so strong for their age.

Kyo took Rose in his arms, kissing the blonde hair as he walked back to the hallway. "Come on mama, get down and help your kid. Not much I can do about his problem."

Satsuki landed and handed the other babies over to Kyo before taking Rose. He whispered to Rose soothingly and helped him move his wings the right way.

It didn't take long for Rose to be flying with some apprehension, little hand closed around Satsuki's hair even when his feet were already high up in the air, almost turning him upside down.

Kyo laughed, walking with the babies to his bedroom and sitting on the edge of the bed, where he could still see his mate. "He's scared."

"He'll learn. I'm too tired to teach him tonight." Satsuki admitted, gently pulling Rose safely back into his arms. "You did so well." He said, kissing the tiny blonde baby. "Now you need to sleep."

Kyo nodded, looking down at his little children, Shou already asleep and drooling on his arm, Hitsugi halfway there. "Look, we may have some peace tonight. They're tired after the little adventure."

"That's good." Satsuki said as he set Rose down in the crib. "I need some peace. A week of it."

Kyo laughed, going to set all of his babies in the cribs too. They just closed their little eyes and went to sleep. The demon smiled down to them before walking to the little shelf with stuffed toys. In a minute he had took off all of the teddy bears collars and was tying it around his little darlings wrists. "I will sleep better knowing that I can hear them if they decide to practice. And you know you don't need all that peace. Can you imagine how would we miss their loud crying, hair pulling and night adventures? I know I would."

"Mm, I guess." Satsuki said, though he knew he would. Now that he was a parent, he couldn't think of ever being without his precious babies. He walked over to Kyo and collapsed against him. "Kyo..." He moaned softly. He could use a good night's rest though.
