Andy McNeff 2002 Award Winner

 Info. on the Andy McNeff Memorial Award

This award is given annually to Nebraska's Outstanding Greco Roman Wrestler,

the selection is based on the Greco performances of the previous season.

Andy McNeff grew up in Brule, Ne. a small town just west of Ogallala. Andy wrestled

his way up threw the USA club scene. He then wrestled for Ogallala High School,

after graduation Andy opted to go into the United States Marine Corp. It was there

he honed his greco roman skills. It was for the Marines that he qualified for the

finial Olympic trials. Andy placed 3rd in the final trials. After a stunt in Desert Storm

Andy attended UNK where he was 2nd in the NCAA Division II National Tournament. Not too

long after that Andy was working as a graphic artist, when a car accident in Kansas cost us all

a great wrestler and friend. Andy's parents along with Andy's youth coach, Nebraska's USA State Chairman

Dennis Miller, started this award in 1997 in memory of Andy

and his great love for the Greco Roman style of wrestling.
