Continued: The Puppy Princess
Book#1 in The Puppy Princess Series
Marilyn is led off down the aisle with the red lipstick lady and the nice young couple.

Marilyn passes Caboodle and Lollie on the way out to the yard and they both give her a paws up and are both grinning ear to ear.  Marilyn thinks they wouldnt be so happy unless this was something good.  Marilyn smiles too and decides this is a new beginning as they head out to the play yard.

The young man showers her with attention, asks her if she wants to play, and rubs her belly.  The young woman gives her a big hug, kisses her on the nose, and promises her that she will be with them always.

She sits by the young mans side as they fill out papers to adopt her.  Marilyn smiles as she listens to the couple telling the red lipstick lady how lucky they were to find her as they have been looking for the perfect puppy for quite some time now.

Getting settled in to her new home was pretty easy and to her surprise she stays indoors.  No more dark, scary nights outside alone.  Tut was right, she is the luckiest dog in the world.  She dozes off next to her owner lady.  The two of them are curled up in bed with soft blankets and fluffy pillows galore as they both think of dreams to come.

In Marilyns dream she is a princess.

You are my Princess.  My Princess Puppy.  She hears her owner lady whisper softly in her ear.

Marilyn thinks, I am a Princess.

Marilyn imagines a pretty princess cap on top of her little head.

In fact, I made something special for you, Marilyn.

Her owner lady gets out of bed and walks over to the mirrored closet doors and

pulls out the prettiest, pink princess hat and sets it on Marilyns head.

Marilyn walks to the mirror and stares at her reflection.  Her princess hat sparkles and shimmers and the soft folds of pink satin flow from the top of her hat all the way down her back.

A single tear rolled down Marilyns cheek and off her nose.

This is what Teeter had meant.

To love and be loved.

She smiles at her reflection, happy with herself and her place in her new familys home.  Her home.  She prances off proudly with her new princess hat to let a new day begin.
