Continued: The Puppy Princess

"Thanks, Tut.  You're right, I wasn't thinking.  Sorry to get you all excited girls," motioning towards Marilyn and Lollie, "I just get too excited sometimes."

And before they all knew it, standing in front of them was the biggest Basset hound they had ever seen.  Four stumpy paws carrying more than 100 pounds of pure Basset.  The hound has his nose imbedded into the floor sniffing uncontrollably.  He's walking at a slow pace which seems too fast for him as he is making loud dramatic panting sounds.

The Basset hound is being escorted by the red lipstick lady from the front counter.

The pair pause in front of Caboodle's cage.

"Caboodle," the lady says, "this is your new roommate."

A stunned Caboodle stares back at the lady.

The Basset looks up and exchanges a friendly look with Caboodle.  Caboodle is quite a large dog, and he, too, wouldn't want to see the two of them try to share a cage. He scans the area.  He turns towards Tut's cage.

The red lipstick lady follows the Basset hound�s look into Tut's nice, clean, spotless cage.

"Oh, yes!  Tut would make a great roommate for you," the lady exclaims as she shuffles the Basset into Tut's cage.

"Wo, wait a minute here." Tut exclaims as he sits up to try to plead his case with the nice lady.  Thinking of no reason why he shouldn�t share his cage, he introduces himself.

�Hello, there.  I am Tut, divinest of all Mutts.  Lovely to have you aboard.� 

�Hi, Tut!� the Basset says as he settles into the cage.

�Let me introduce you to Marilyn, Lollie, and Caboodle,�  Tut motions across the aisle.

The girls wave and all say �Hi!� in unison.

�What is your name, my friend?�  Tut so graciously asks.

�I don�t think I have one.  I�m a Basset hound.�

�And quite a lovely hound, too.  One certainly must have a name.  We will find
