NOTES:
Nebraska found a way to take the game into OT and then found a way to stop the Texas offense on one crucial possession to win their 2nd Big 12 Championship. 

Texas drew first blood after a scoreless first quarter on a 58 yard pass from Simms to Thomas.  Nebraska tied the game at 7 on their next possession going 95 yards in 14 plays.  The score remained 7-7 at halftime.

Nebraska took their first possession of the 2nd half 78 yards for a TD capped by a 21 yard run by Crouch for a 14-7 lead.  The Huskers looked as if they were going to take control of the game shutting down the Longhorns offense 2 straight possessions and driving down to the Longhorns 14 yard line with 2:38 left in the 3rd quarter.  Diedrick, however, tried to make too much out of run up the middle and fumbled the football.  Texas took over possession and wasted no time knotting the score at 14.  Ike capped the drive with a 4 yard run.  Texas again regained possession after holding the Huskers to a 3 and out drive.  Johnson finished off the drive with a brilliant 7 yard TD catch from Simms with 2:38 left in the game for a 21-14 lead. 

Crouch lead the Huskers right down the field on the very next possession running 4 times for 38 yards.  Crouch converted a HUGE 1st down on a 4th and 4 at the Longhorns 19 yard line with :45 seconds left in the game on an option keeper.  The very next play, Diedrick found a whole on the right side of the line and was in the endzone to tie the score at 21 with :25 seconds left. 

Nebraska took possession of the ball in OT and needed just 4 plays to reach the endzone.  Diedrick ran up the middle untouched from the 5.  Simms hooked up with Williams on a desperation 4th and 17 pass from the 22 to tie the score at 28 for the 4th tie of the game.  Nebraska choose to play defense 1st in the 2nd OT and stopped Texas on 4 straight plays.  The Huskers drove to the Texas 3 yard line before Brown came in and sealed the game with a 20 yard field goal. 

Series Info:

Nebraska and Texas have only played 8 times, each winning 4.  However, Texas has won 3 of the last 4 games but did lose the last time to the Huskers in the Big 12 Championship game.

Prediction:

This will be a HUGE test for the Huskers.  Texas comes in with a 10-1 record and a dominating defense.  Nebraska will need a huge game out of Crouch AND Diedrick if they want to win.  The huskers will have to put some serious pressure on Simms and not let Williams run around open all day in the secondary.
