Near Miss Mallet started back in 2000 with original members Brock and Melissa. Over the years additional musicians have come and gone leaving a lasting impression on the music. Both Brock and Melissa were born and raised in Bakersfield and have been influenced by many musical genres. Ryan is a very passionate drummer who has been a great addition to the band. John has been with the group for a little over a year and has put some flare in the tunes that is especially evident in some of their newer efforts. In 2004 they released their first album "Telephone to Girl in Glass Bathtub" and received great reviews and many new fans. They are currently in the studio working on the second album titled "Dark Pictures" and are busy playing shows in and around the Bakersfield area. Near Miss Mallet's main goal is to write and perform for people who love music. They love creating music and hope you enjoy it as much as they do.
