Monday, April 22 - Well another month has flown by. I did not mean to wait this long between updates but time has once again gotten away from me. So I'm going to try and get this update written while Lauren is in school. Things have been so hectic lately - but totally normal hectic! Between school, PT, soccer, karate and playdates we have been running a little crazy but we are definitely enjoying it.

I hope everyone had a nice Easter. We sure did. We were at my parents house for dinner on Saturday with Aunt Nean, Uncle Dylan, Uncle Gary and Elizabeth.  Before we dinner, Grandma, Nean, Dylan and I took Lauren and Elizabeth to see one of our old horses Britain. Dylan's mom has her now and she keeps her at a place with a bunch of other animals. The girls got to feed carrots to the horses, feed the sheep, goats and ducks, chase the potbellied pigs and collect eggs from the chicken house. They had so much fun. Timmy and Bill had stayed behind at grandma's to do some fishing. Then on Easter Sunday we had an egg hunt outside here at home, had a nice dinner and then went over to Sharon & Joe's for dessert. Lauren, Cheyenne, Timmy and Sierra all had a good time playing together

Last weekend Bill and the kids took a trip down to see his parents. They had a great time visiting with grandma & Pop Pop and of course Lauren was thrilled to get to play with grandma's dog Candy. (I'm not sure how much longer we'll be able to put off getting her a new dog of her own!)  I got to stay home for the weekend to attend an all day scrapbooking workshop on Sunday and catch up on some cleaning -  Oh and of course do some shopping!

Lauren has been looking and feeling great!  With the weather being so nice she has been able to get back outside more. We've gotten to the park a few times and she & Timmy spend a lot of time in the backyard running around and climbing on the jungle gym. And they both have been helping Bill out with all his yardwork; mulching, fixing flowerbeds, taking care of the plants in the greenhouse and working on the pond. Her muscle control & strength is definitely improving. So much so that Karen (her pt therapist) said that by end of preschool (mid May) we should be able to cut down our visits to once a week.  Speaking of PT, we did find something interesting out a few weeks ago. Lauren has always complained on/off of hip pain, since about the summer after she was diagnosed and we always blamed it on one thing or another. Well we found out that her pelvis has been going out of alignment!  Because her left side has been so much weaker than her right, when she sits/falls down hard she would always land on the left side of her butt and this would throw her pelvis out of whack. Once we found this and corrected it - no more complaints of hip pain!  It does still happen but at least now we know what to look for and how to fix it.

We also found out that Lauren is still HAMA negative so round 10 of antibodies is scheduled for April 29 - May 10. We'll be heading back to RMH next Sunday afternoon. We're looking forward to seeing and catching up with a lot of friends. I did have a mom email me the other day telling me about her son that was doing the same antibodies as Lauren. He got a HAMA right at the end of his two years - on his very last round! So I guess there's still hope!  The kids have a pretty busy week  coming up - before we head back to the city. Timmy has a class trip to a planetarium tomorrow, a soccer game tomorrow night (makeup - Saturday's was rained out), katrate twice, then a soccer game Friday night. Lauren has a dance class with Cheyenne tomorrow, a class trip to Uncle Mike's dairy farm on Wednesday, PT Friday, then we're all going to see the Mad Cap Mutts on Saturday.  Lauren is so excited to be taking her class to Uncle Mike's farm. They're learning about farm animals in class and we thought it would be fun for the kids to visit a real farm. Lauren just wants to show everyone how she feeds the calves their bottles! I'm sure we'll all have a lot of fun.

Well I finished just in time to run and pick Lauren up from school!  Take care everyone. I hope you all have a great week!

As always, Thanks for checking in on us and for keeping Lauren in your prayers.

Sorry about the stark white backround - Geocities seems to have (temporarily I hope) lost our backround as well as our "dog" buttons :-(
