The Red River
flows slowly towards the Mississippi. 
Here in Central Louisiana the Red River separates  Effie from Moncla. 
Years ago when there wasn't a bridge over the Red River, the river was a demarcation zone dividing these two separate factions of French imingrants who settled here.  For years there were angry fueds between these two separate groups of settlers.  Once the bridge was built and families began to mingle and marry,
the fueds  became  friendly tradition.
