Here are a few Valentine crafts and decorating ideals to spruce up your holiday. Have fun.
Cut hearts out of fun foam or construction paper. (A cookie cutter makes this easy). Cut out the middle of the paper plate so that you only have an outer ring.Punch a hole at the top and bottom of the plate ring. The hole at the top is for hanging with a pipe cleaner, and the bottom hole is for threading red ribbon for dangling hearts. You can use double sided tape or glue to secure the hearts, overlapping and covering all of the plate.
Write the words "Jesus Loves Me" on one heart and "God is Love" is another. Punch holes in the top of these. Cut your ribbon to different lenghts and thread through the hole at the bottom of the ring. Secure the hearts with the verses to the ribbon. Thread a red or black pipe cleaner through the hole in the top of the ring and fashion a hanger .This is a really easy and fairly quick craft for ages 5 and up.

Valentine's Candles

candles (the thicker the better)(pink, red or white)
candy "message" hearts
glue

Give each child a candle . Pour out candy hearts. Put glue on the back of the hearts and have the children randomly place them on the candle so the mesage can be read. place it at the base of the candle, so the message can be read  until about half of the candle is covered in candy hearts.Makes a great gift. You might want to buy extra candies for eating!
Valentine Mail Boxes

Shoe Box
Construction Paper
Scissors
Glue
Misc. Crafts Supplies

Cover the shoe box with red or white construction paper and cut a mail slot in the top. Decorate the box with paper scraps, material scraps, stickers, what ever you have on hand!I plan to use this in Children's Church for the children to exchange Valentine's.
1 large Woodsies heart ,1 Medium Woodsies heart ,4 Small Woodsies hearts
Paint
Brush
fine Point perment marker
wire (Thin gaged wire gives more "spring")
tacky glue or glue gun
small round magnet or pin

Body: Paint all woodies in the desired colour (you can paint a pattern on the large heart). Using tacky glue, glue large heart upside down to medium heart, right side up. Paint on face.
Arms and Legs: Cut 4 pieces of wire, 4-6 inches long. Wrap around a pencil, leaving about 1/8th of an inch straight on each end. Bend ends into a loop. Hot glue(this should be done by an adult)  small hearts with the point of the heart into the wire. Then hot glue arms and legs to body in their respective places.
Glue magnet or pin on the back

This can easily be adapted to younger children by using construction and school glue.
