Memory Verse Bracelets

The Verse Bracelet is a bracelet which we add a Scripture verse to each week, then ask the kids to memorize them and eventually recite it from memory. At the end of the year they will have verses handy that they can refer to and hopefully, remember."

What you do:
Copy memory verses onto a sheet of paper, laminate them, cut them down to a rectangular shape (maybe 1 x 2 inches), hole punch them, then add to metal bracelets with the twist off ends, or use rawhide strips. Each week add a new memory verse to the bracelets.
                                                         Fall Placemats
clear contact paper; leaves;  permanent markers

Go outside and collect brightly colored leaves.bring in the leaves and make sure that they are dry.Un-roll a 2' section of the contact paper and peel off the back, exposing the sticky side.
Place the leaves face down on one half of the sheet of paper.
Fold the contact paper in half and press firmly, trim off any excess.
Decorate with stickers, or add a decorative edge.
                                                  Butterfly Flyer
a straw, yarn ,construction paper (3 colors), tissue paper, glitter, crayons

Take the yarn (about 3 ft.long)and thread through the straw and back down the outside of the straw and tie(you can now shorten the yarn if need be by pulling the yarn through the straw). Draw a butterfly outline on the construction paper (one of each color) and cut out. Decorate with pieces of tissue paper, glitter and crayons. Put a small hole at each end of each butterfly and thread the yarn through these holes. Place a knot at the end of the yarn so the butterflies do not slip off. You now can go outside and by holding onto the straw 'fly' your butterflies around.
                                                       Daisy Fingerprints
colored ink pads or finger paints, paper

Fold paper to make a card. Have child use their thumb to make the center of the daisy with one color (yellow works well). Use each of the 5 fingers to make petals around center. Use different colors for petals to create an entire garden of flowers on one card. Have child then use index finger to "draw" stem from each flower to bottom of card, or you can just add the details with a marker. This project makes a great Mother's day card!
                                 Mosaic Heart
Construction Paper, Scissors, Glue, Crepe Paper or Tissue Paper

Cut out a large heart. Cut up small pieces of construction paper (either pink or red but not the same color as the heart) and glue them all over the heart. You can also use pieces of crepe paper which are crumbled up!
Make a Wave Bottle (Noah's Ark)
Remove the label from a clean clear 16 oz. plastic soda bottle.  Fill  the bottle 2/3 full of water. Add food coloring until the water is the color you desire. Add enough oil (mineral oil works best) until the bottle is nearly full, but not quite. Put a few drops of super glue (or use hot melt glue) in the lid and screw on the lid.
You could also use 1/2 cup to 1 cup of light corn syrup.
To make the bottle more interesting, you can add small toys, glitter, & confetti, to the water before you add the oil.
Have the children swirl and shake the bottle and watch its movement
