Captured in Febuary 1967, in Washington, Kilroy was one of 5 orcas captured from K pod. 1 male, and 3 females. All of them except Skana were sent to the Seattle Aquarium. A month later, along with Ramu, another orca who was captured with him, he was sent to live at Seaworld. Ramu was sent to Seaworld Florida, while Kilroy was sent to Seaworld Califorinia. Shamu and Kilroy shared the horribly tiny pool until 1969, when another female named Kandu was captured and sent to live with them. In June 1971, Kandu died, leaving Kilroy and Shamu by themselves. Then, 2 months after that, Shamu died, leaving Kilroy alone. He finnally passed away in 1978, at Seaworld SanDiego of Gangreous pneumonia. |
