On Thursday, November 8th, 2001, the President of the Southeast Florida Library Information Network, Raymond Santiago in a festive ceremony at the Broward Main library auditorium located on 100 South Andrews Avenue in fort Lauderdale Florida, recognized those who have contributed to the success of the SEFLIN Free-Net South Florida first community Network.

Most of us who received the Seflin Free-Net Partners Award 2001 Information provider, have been contributing to the network, with the creation of informative web text pages since 1996, when the system was simply a dial up one and the process of creating, uploading and making live a file was quite a tedious process. Later on the system was upgraded to the the world Wide Web level, when the process became a tad easier, yet it was a good deal of work, requiring a great deal of dedication and commitment to the community and the organization on behalf of which we often posted our informative web pages. The SEFLIN Information Provider network has beed phased out and has moved up to another project to serve only the library system at http://www.MyLibraryService.org.

For those of us, who have voluntairily and freely carried the honorable burden to dedicate ourselves to acustom to a process of after work and late nights, week ends and long hours of suplementary work as Information Provider, from 1996 to 2001. We can say that we learned much from the ethic of hard work, programmed by our self imposed discipline , while serving freely our diverse multiethnic community on the world wide web and the inter libary system of Broward county, Dade County, West Palm Beach and Monroe County.

We are marked forever by this humble experience, where so many unselfishly have contributed and have been recognized publicly by the SEFLIN board of Directors for the success of the Seflin Free-Net, which was created by the people for the people.

We can honestly conclude that the SEFLIN has served its purpose and we are all grateful and proud as tax-payers and volunteers to have been a part of its success as acknowledged by this lasting gesture of gratitude in the final ultimate SEFLIN award ceremony of this 21st century.

Note: The HAES/SEFLIN web pages were created on the SEFLIN as a token of my civic contribution to help promote the Haitian community and the HAES organization. They were maintained on the web page http://www.seflin.org/haes from 1996 to 2001, until the date when the Seflin Information Provider Network was phased out, so that the Seflin could dedicate itself to serve inter library program.
