Ndimyon  and the Goddess : Sacrifice

By : Jericah Helios

The night is dying. And I have died here beside you.

Your breath has slowed and I still watch you sleep.

(Mortal on the Immortal)

I stand beside your bed, looking down on your prone form. Moonlight upon your skin and my sweat on your brow. My lips on yours.

(Human on the divine)

Outside the balcony, white roses have bloomed into the night. And as I reach for them, rain starts to fall.

(sliding. Slipping. Falling. Tears of heaven. Sliding down the cheek of night and down.)

rain on my cheeks, rain in my sweat and your scent.

Roses in my arms as I pick them one by one.

(white on white on white)

Back at your side, you sigh softly while in the Sandman’s embrace. Slow fluttering eyelids and a heartbeat.

(frantic, pushing, aching slowing to sleep)

Rose petals on your bed. I grab each bud and scatter them around you.

(blood on white on ivory and ebony)

A white rose at your side.

My last whisper.

“I love you…”

and with bleeding hands.

Aching soul.

I close the window.

Morning comes.

The moon must depart.

One last kiss.

(human on the divine)

My sacrifice.

My goddess.

My moon.

My love.

-End-
