(Ebony falls, flowing on black satin)
Robes whispering at ivory pillars
(Pale shoulders
glistening in the moonlight.)
Rusty voice saying one
name.
“Goddess. Goddess”
(Sharp breath. Inarticulate sounds.)
Stopping at the door. Deep dead breath.
Open door.
Creaking sounds, a wince.
Sharp breath.
(Goddess, moon, Moon Goddess, Goddess of the
Moon)
Bathing in milk. Hazel
eyes hidden beneath pitch falls. Half-hidden with
milk.
(Ebony drenched in milk)
(Ivory hidden in milk)
Arms appear and hands reach out and part the
falls to reveal a face
(Dripping milk on
Goddess Face. Milk Tears)
“Attend to me”
(Satin on milk. Satin
on pale skin. Satin on sweat glistening in the moonlight)
Walk carefully to window and throw it open.
The eyes of the temple are open and the moon
can see within.
(See me, priest. See you, goddess. Goddess. Moon Goddess, My Goddess. On your
priest. Yours)
Slower walk to the pool.
Black falls fell back. Run hand through the
deep satin pitch.
Towel dipped into milk.
Running towel down back.
(Hands searching,
begging. Grasped. Sharp cry)
Milk drips out of the towel into hand.
Goddess arises.
Turn away. False sense of
modesty.
(Robes falling unto the floor. silk blanket
sliding off bed and unto the floor. black silk on black satin on white cotton)
“Did you hear me Priest?”
“Attend to me.”
