Hi again. This time it’s Yohji’s turn in this part two of a five part songfic series. (breather) that was a long thing to say! Here we go!

Oh yeah, before silly old me forgets, White Cross and all that is wonderfully White Cross doesn’t belong to me and I do not lay any claims to it other than a fanaticism, a declaration of my eternal and pure(*ROFL*) and chaste(????!!!???) and passionate love for Yohji and the creativity (??!!??) that I exerted in making this fic. And I definitely don't own the song. Long live Savage Garden!

Thus!

Gunning Down Romance

Song By : Savage Garden

Fic By : J. Helios (Ms. J)

Love and other moments are just chemical reactions in your brain

In your brain

<Yohji walks away from the field. (Note: ‘Sometimes’ ending) his shades obscuring his eyes as he walks to his car. He opens the door and sits.>

And feelings of aggressions are the absence of the love drug in your veins

In your veins

<Closing the door roughly, he suddenly revs up the engine and shoots off like a bullet, going further than the speed limit>

Love come quickly

<His gossamer hair blows around as he drives faster and faster. On the edge of his mouth is a lit cigarette; it’s trail of smoke going with the wind>

Because I feel my self-esteem is caving in

<The sheen on the car flashes and everything is obscured. When it clears, It’s Yhoji’s turn to sit on his bed. He is smoking a lone cigarette.>

It's on the brink

<Closing his eyes, he takes a long drag out of it. He exhales it into a cloud of gray smoke, disappearing like mist into the afternoon sun>

Love come quickly

<He crushes it into a stub and walks over to his window, where a Cattleya is hanging. He looks at one of the flowers, turning it slightly with his fingers.>

Because I don't think I can keep this monster in

<He suddenly plucks out one. Holding it up to his face, he glares at it, almost as if it was the cause of all his problems.>

It's in my skin

<He shuts his eyes and crushes the flower in his fist.>

Love and other socially acceptable emotions are morphine

They're morphine

<He throws the flower and the view is obscured. It clear and we find the flower shop, where the fan-girls are hanging around their favorite florist. Yohji gives each of the girls surrounding him a cheeky smile>

Cleverly concealing primal urges often felt but rarely seen

Rarely seen

<We see the girls who are a few points short of drooling over Yohji. They look at him with shimmering eyes. Some look on with ‘come-hither’ looks that could have melted the flowerpots nearby. And yet some others look at him with burning fire behind their eyes, desperation, passion, obsession.>

Love I beg you

<Yohji’s arm obscures our view and when it comes down again, we see that he is up on the rooftop again, smoking. From time to time, he mouths the word “Asuka”>

Lift me up into that privileged point of view

<Tears stream down his face each time he says it.>

The world of two

<He shuts his eyes and he remembers the times when Asuka was still with him>

Love don't leave me

<A noontime conversation in their favorite restaurant. A chiding smile, a rather harsh word, softened by the love that shone right through her eyes, never obscured by her anger>

Because I console myself that Hallmark cards are true

<A birthday card, written on the side: “Of all the things that I am thankful for, it’s because you were born this day. I wouldn’t have lasted without you. Aishiteru Yohji.”>

I really do

<The same card, albeit looking older and darker, is being held by Yohji in the darkness of his bedroom. Tears fall on the card and it shimmers, obscuring our view>

I'm gunning down romance

<As it clears, we seen the White Cross rushing forward. Yohji takes hold of the end of the wire and pulls.>

It never did a thing for me

<A muffled scream as Aya goes by with his Katana. A splash of blood as Ken rips through the insides of another. A crumpled body on the floor as Omi aims.>

But heartache and misery

<Yohji grips the end of his wire and pulls, on the other end of the room a thug is lifted and struggles. Yohji’s eyes are seen and they are shimmering with unshed tears.>

Ain't nothing but a tragedy

<With a final tug on his wire, Yohji drops the thug and stands up, his eyes obscured but a lone tear streaking down his face.>

I'm gunning down romance

<They nod to each other as they all turn and slowly walk away.>

It never did a thing for me

<The disappear into the shadows…>

But heartache and misery

<The shadows deepens and finally we see Yohji standing alone by his window, dressed in his sleeping clothes.>

Ain't nothing but a tragedy

<He leans against the windowpane as it rains outside>

Love don't leave me

<He reaches out, as if to clasp a hand but succeeds only on trailing his hand down the cold glass>

Take these broken wings

<Turning around to go to bed, he suddenly stops and looks down.>

I'm going to take these broken wings

<The view focuses on his feet, where the crushed cattleya lay>

And learn to fly

<He picks it up gently, as if saying sorry for what he did a while ago. Then he walks back to the window and opens it.>

And learn to fly away

<With the wind blowing in his face and the wet raindrops splash across his face, clothes and floor, he looks down to the street below him>

And learn to fly away

<He holds out his hands outside the window and opens it, releasing the cattleya.>

I'm gunning down romance

<It floats slowly down to the streets>

**OWARI**

There, it’s done! Ha, ha, how original, it’s Yohji musing about Asuka again. Hn!

Anyway, this is dedicated to Bahnwelt-sama, it was her idea to read this song to me once and ever since then I’ve fallen in love with all Savage Garden songs. This is for you Bahn-sama, whatever happens you’re still my friend.
