>> A flash of lightning, in the darkness we could see Komogata Yumi, with one hand tucking in a stray piece of hair with a dangerous glint in her eyes. Darkness falls again and then another flash of lightning, this time we could see Makimachi Misao with her arm covering half of her face, also bearing a seriously crazy look in her eyes. Darkness falls again and then another lightning flash lights everything up. We see Kamiya Kaoru and Takani Megumi back to back, really dangerous smirks on their faces. Another lightning flash and then everything is enveloped in darkness once again. On that frightening note, the music starts.<<

 

I hate the world today

>> Misao stares down the three members of the Juppon Katana sent to Aoiya. Her fists raised in tight knots as she gets into a ready stance.<<

I know but I can't change

>>Shishio looks at Yumi and says something that makes her smile.<<

 

Tried to tell you

      >> Megumi starts to explain something but Sanosuke cuts her short and frowns deeply<<

 

But you look at me like maybe

>> Kaoru sweeps the courtyard as Kenshin looks at her, smiling beatifically<<

 

Innocent and sweet

>>She pauses to admire the flowers and Kenshin moves away, the smile still on his face<<

>>Misao is on her knees, her tears dropping down to her thighs. This is the scene where Okita asks Kenshin to kill Aoshi.<<

           

Must have been relieved to see

The softer side

>> A shadow crosses over Misao’s vision and she looks up to Kenshin who quietly promises her that he would bring Aoshi back.<<

 

I can understand how you'd be so confused

I don't envy you

>>Kenshin goes “Oro?” as Kaoru stomps out of the room, leaving two pancakes that were formerly Sanosuke and Yahiko<<

 

I'm a little bit of everything

All rolled into one

>>Megumi looks at Sanosuke’s friend who was wounded. A serious look crosses her face as she orders the men around. Then there’s that famous scene of her stretching the thread to start to operation.<<

      >> Kenshin looks at Yumi who was firmly entwined around Shishio’s arms<<

>> Kaoru touches the soft hair of the two little girls as they sleep, a gentle look coming into her eyes<<

      >> Misao looks into the Zen temple where Aoshi is staying.<<

>> Megumi sneers as she gives the fake witchdoctor some water, calling it medicine. She gives in to a little giggle and her fox ears start popping out<<

>> Sano, Kenshin and Saitoh look at Yumi who stood in front of Shishio’s hideout waiting for them.<<

 

I'm nothing in between

      >> Kaoru goes through her practice with Yahiko, pressing the young student heavily<<

 

You know you wouldn't want it any other way

      >> We could see Kenshin’s purple eye, peeking though the edge of one door.<<

 

So take me as I am

>>Kenshin and Kaoru hugging by the river side as the fireflies fly all throughout the place<<

 

This may mean

You'll have to be a stronger man

>> Shishio looks at Yumi and then reaches out to kiss her. They break away and he tells her not to worry, that the upcoming battle would only last only a few minutes.<<

 

Rest assured that

>> Kenshin looks more than a little uneasy as Sanosuke and Yahiko get Kaoru drunk on beer. Kaoru starts to talk nonsense and Kenshin slowly inches away.<<

      >> Megumi leans on the doorframe like Sano and winks<<

 

And today won't mean a thing

>> Misao leaps from the balcony. She gives Kaoru a thumbs up and a cocky smile before looking at Kamatari.<<

      >> Kaoru faces off with Kamatari, with only the handle of her Bokken left.<<

      >> Megumi plays with the two girls with a delicate smile<<

>> Yumi pauses in front of the Buddha statue in Anji’s battle room and stares a little into it’s eyes.<<

      >> Misao smiles and proceeds to rob the men who had tried to pick her up.<<

>> Aoshi looks out into the courtyard, remembering a small Misao running around while she was playing. Chibi Misao sees Aoshi and smiles at him. Reality sets in and a grown up Misao stands where she was, practicing.<<

 

Just when you think, you got me figured out

The season's already changing

>> Megumi examines the man, groaning on the bridge. She looks concerned and worried. After a few seconds, she frowns and proceeds to slap his forehead, proclaiming that he wasn’t even sick.<<

 

I think it's cool, you do what you do

      >> Kaoru looks on as Kenshin faces off with his enemies.<<

 

And don't try to save me

>>Yumi grits her teeth in anger and starts to bring out the small knife she kept hidden within her kimono.<<

      >> Megumi glares at Aoshi who gives her a small knife<<

      >> Yumi holds a wounded Soujiro in her arms<<

>> Kaoru lights a few incense sticks in a temple and puts her hands together as she prays.<<

 

I do not feel ashamed

      >> Misao shouts at Kenshin irritably<<

>> Kenshin tries to smile at Kaoru who puts down dinner that she cooked. Sano and Yahiko swallow nervously<<

 

You know you wouldn't want it any other way

      >> Aoshi reaches out to catch a falling Misao<<

      >> Misao looks at Aoshi with heart shaped eyes.<<

 

I'm a goddess on my knees

>>Yumi kneels between Shishio and Kenshin, her arms raised out to protect the one she loves. She begs Kenshin to leave her and Shishio alone<<

 

When you hurt, when you suffer

>> Later on, Shishio holds a dying Yumi who tells him it was a honor to finally be able to do something to help him win a battle.<<   

 

I'm your angel undercover

>>Misao hides behind some bushes as she waits for the ‘Child of God’ that was supposed to come.<<

 

I've been numb, I'm revived

>>Megumi looks at the knife in her hands a little hopelessly. As she strikes down to kill herself, Sano stops the blade.<<

 

Can't say I'm not alive

>> She looks at him as he proceeds to sermon about the foolishness of what she was doing.<<

 

You know I wouldn't want it any other way

>>Kaoru looks out and sees Kenshin doing the laundry. She smiles quietly to herself.<<

 

>> As the music comes to a close, Yumi, Misao, Kaoru and Megumi stand in a semi-circle in the fading candlelight. The view focuses on each of their faces before panning out to see everybody. As the darkness deepens, everything fades out until all that is left is the dangerous glint in their eyes.<<
