“Oh man! What am I going to bring?” moaned Jericah
as she stood in the middle of her room with an empty bag.
With a sigh she picked up the next possible item, an old pair of
riding pants. They were black and they were pretty used but she rather liked it
and thought, “Hell, we might go horseback riding
anyway.”
“Honey” called her mother.
“Yeah?” she looked up and saw her mother holding up a long black
evening dress. “What’s that?”
“I thought you might need it.” She smiled.
“But mom…” she started to stutter, “We don’t plan to go to a formal
party, just a sophisticated hotel.”
“Yeah, so?”
Jericah could only look at her mother. “Mom.” She
started.
“Yes…?” her mother answered
“You’ll ruin my image.”
“What image?”
“Everybody thinks I’m a guy posing as a girl. I rather like it.”
“Oh!” said her mother with a bit of a raised eyebrow. After keeping
quiet for a few moments, she went off, muttering about something. Jericah just shrugged and went back to packing.
“What about this?” was the next thing that she heard.
Jericah turned to see her mother holding up a tuxedo.
A loud crash reverberated through the house as Jericah
fell into a mock death.

“What are we taking there?” asked Yuuki
as she leaned on a nearby post. Meg shrugged and shifted her bags around their
feet, tapping impatiently. The duo was standing outside a mall, waiting for the
arrival of the rest of their friends.
Jericah approached them from the post she had taken up a few minutes ago
and sighed a little. “Man, it’s taking long.” She said.
“What are we taking to get there?’” asked Yuuki
of Jeri, “A bus?”
“Yeah,” asked Meg. “What are we waiting for?”
Jericah started fiddling with her fingers. “Actually…I don’t know” she
smiled sheepishly at them.
When they had recovered from their mock death, Yuuki
and Meg turned on their glares for the sheepish looking youth who was slowly
inching away. “Stop…that…” said Jeri. “You…you might
get wrinkles….besides…I might melt…”
“You don’t Know what we’re waiting for?!?”
Yuuki almost shrieked. Nevertheless her voice was
high enough to render the Jericah and her sensitive
ears unconscious.
“Oh no, you’re not getting away that easy!” exclaimed Meg, shaking
awake the poor scapegoat.
“It’s-not-my-fault!” said Jeri from between each jerk. “E-ri-ka-told-me-that-she-would-be-in-cha-rge-of-the-whole-thing!
I- don’t-know!”
“Meg…it’s not worth it.” Started Yuuki.
A loud car horn stopped Meg’s retort and the three stopped to look
at an approaching red van. The van stopped directly in front of them and they
shared a look.
Suddenly the front window rolled down and they could see the
smiling visage of Andrea looking at them through shades.
“Hop on” she said with a large smirk.
“Oh man!” Jeri exclaimed as she looked at the vehicle, “This is our
ride?”
“You’d better believe it!” was Erika’s joiner as she popped her
head beside Andrea’s
“Oh shit! You’re driving?”
“Yeah, sure!
C’mon!”

Author’s rant: This was just something I wanted so much to rant
about. Besides, can’t you just see Erika driving the van? Yehey!
