The kitchen was a complete mess. It looked like a hurricane had swept through. Dirty pots were pilled high on the stove, where things had been boiling and frying not too long ago. Stains adorned the counter and a small black spot glared down from the ceiling where the fire at the stove had raised so high it singed the paint.

Mara stood at the sink with her elbows up to suds. Dinner hadnt gone as planned. She knew she wasnt the worlds greatest cook, she was the type of girl who couldnt make microwave macaroni and cheese, but she wanted to cook Joey dinner. She tried her hardest and still burnt everything to where they would make good hockey pucks, and Joey had told her so.

Joey stood in the doorway sipping his beer. He hadnt meant to make her so angry. The only reason why he had commented on the foods hockey puck resemblance was to lighten the mood up a bit. It had only made Mara purse her lips and keep her eyes on her plate of dessert, the one thing that hadnt been burnt to a crisp.

He set his empty beer bottle on the counter and stood behind her. Mara ignored his presence and continued her ministrations. Joey sighed and placed his hands on her hips, gently kneading the flesh through the skirt material. Sweetie, I didnt mean to hurt your feelings.

Mara gave him no recognition and continued washing. She knew she was being childish but she couldnt help it.

Joey smiled. She was an extremely stubborn women but it was one of the things he loved about her. I didnt mean what I said earlier, yknow. Dinner wasit was good.

Mara shook her head and gave a short laugh. Liar, it was horrible.

Joey gave a smile of relief and turned her to face him. So am I forgiven?

Placing her soapy hands on his shoulders, Mara gave a small smirk, and said, Well, Joey, I dunno. You were pretty mean to me.

Joey smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners, and dipped his head down into her neck; burrowing through her hair until his nose nudged against the smooth skin of her shoulder. He inhaled, smiling at the familiar scent of her despite the smoke smell that clung to her clothes, and closed his eyes as it clouded his mind slightly.

Mara let out a small sigh when he began placing kisses on her shoulder. When he reached the part where her neck and shoulder met his tongue snaked out and he licked slowly. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she gripped his shoulders for balance when he rubbed the roughness of his whiskers against the wet skin.

Joey nipped at the reddening skin, causing her to cry out, and then flicked his tongue out to soothe the bite. He nibbled his way up her neck and licked the whorl of her ear before sucking the lobe between his lips. He gave it a tug and whispered huskily, So am I forgiven now?

Mara opened her eyes and gasped. Joeys eyes were dark brown, almost black, and heady with desire, lust. She licked her lips and smiled softly. Youre almost there.

Joey grinned and dipped his head down. Guess Ill have to try harder then, wont I?

Mmmhmm, she murmured. Joeys mouth twitched, smiling slightly, as he bent down to kiss her.
