More new riverside bulding and this emphasises London history as an international port.

Bankside Power Station now of course rettiled Tate Modern. It appears that the Hanging Committe have decided to drop the Definite article from the title in a jesture of minimalism. Interestingly in London slang it is added for roads such as The Maylebone Road and also Arsenal football club which we covered earlier.

We see a giant plastic scultpure which atempts to dominate the confused river skyline and advertise the gallery that houses the World largest collection of modern art. A pathetic copy of an image I've seen somewhere else.

Tried to capture the piece but the grey light didn't help so I took the liberty of using the Supernova filter to try and simulate sunlight and bring out the reflections. I left the lines in so people wouldn think they had been conned.

More lifesize sculpture and rather Soviet for my liking - I wonder what the new ownwer of Chelsea would think. The inscription says that the base is inspired by an old style milk bottle.

Forward Backward

What is art ? What are THE ARTS ? Does Art imitate life or does life imitate art ? Can we imitate art and still call it art ? Can art be forgotten and must beuty be realised ? and can we still call it art ? You say potato I say Potaato, you say tomato and I say tomayto let's call the whole thing off.

I am calling this one Flood Plane.

Seriously though everyone around Tate Modern was trying to get arty shots of the building so I felt I had to come up with something special and original. I couldn't do it but these two will mean a banning order will be served for the staff on London South Bank. Look what happened to the sheep !!

Forward Backward

The Turbine Hall with some modern sculptures that owe their inspiration from similar copper works from the biginning of the 20th Century.

Forward Backward

A close up of one of the sculptures

Forward Backward

The ever changing skyline looking downriver towards Southwark Bridge. The building on the left used to be known as the Nat West Tower but they sold it prsumably to cover the losses they made during the 1987 Stock Market Crash.

Forward Backward

Looking towards St. Pauls Cathedral from the Millenium Bridge.

Forward Backward

Half way across we have a new view of St. Pauls.

Forward Backward

And a big red bus makes it way up Fleet Street.

Forward Backward

Still some evidence of London history if you look hard enough.

Forward Backward

And a small church desgned by Sir Christopher Wren who redesigned and rebuilt after the Great Fire in 1666.
