Willow Springs Raceway, September 7-8, 2002

Well, I qualified on Poll on Sunday and that is good enough for me. I
qualified ahead of Don Mock for the second time :-) and I put a pass on him
in turn 9 on the outside that made him come over and shake my hand. My car
was almost as fast as it was last time at WSIR. My fastest was a 140.235,
close to the 139.xxx I had last time. The Toyos are a hair slower than the
Kumhos and that made the difference. Where is the video of the pass on Don
Mock BTW?

The short was the result of installing the kill switch. We had to extend the
original positive battery terminal and we wrapped it with a lot of tape.
Unfortunately the tape rubbed off and finally made contact with part of the
ground battery termianl that is bolted next to the battery tray. This
destroyed the first battery and the second one that I borrowed from Colleen.

When we came home we hooked the car to a battery and it ran fine. The only
things that are toast are the kill switch wires, the battery, and MAYBE the
kill switch.

The CCR does say that the kill switch is RECOMMENDED. I think we should make
our rule like that of the CCR. If it was not for the kill switch the short
would not have happened.

Jim, could you PLEASE consider making the kill switch recommended as in the
CCR.
