Buttonwillow Raceway, September 30-October 1, 2000

We showed up. The competition did not. But that is the way it is with most rice boys. They run their mouth on the message board but runaway from real competition. Check out my post in Club SI "Rice Boys Never Show Up." The only late model SI was Kamikaze (Chris) supercharged SI. Props to him. He was running street tires and stock suspension. He pulled a 2:26.

On Saturday the most fun I had was my dog fight with Kyle. It was Classic vs. 200SX. It was a blast. Words cannot describe all the crazy shit he and I did while chasing each other. We ended up pulling 2:16. I think he had the edge by about 0.3 of a second. I was on his tail all the time but he would not let me through. But I am cool with that. Until next time my friend. I loved every minute of it.

My brother drove my car also and he ended up pulling a 2:29 on his first ever time on the track. Not bad for a first time. On Sunday I was able to coach him into a 2:26. I think this racing thing is kinda genetic. We also carry duct tape, the Middle Eastern rednecks, LOL.

Sunday was my biggest day. I pulled the best time and the best session ever. They put me in group 1, up directly from group three. I skipped group 2 altogether. I was a bit apprehensive of that at first, but I did very well.

Session 2 Group 1
lap 2---2:17.476
lap 3---2:18.094
lap 4---2:17.148
lap 5---2:18.246
lap 6---2:15.537 (my fastest lap ever)
lap 7---2:17.776
lap 8---2:17.908
AVG--2:17.455

I think the 2:15.537 is the second fastest among all SE-Rs. I am not sure though. I know that Rob/Sheening got a 2:15.1 on Sunday, edging me out by 0.4 of a second. But I am happy with that since he has the better car. Remember I am still running the Pro-Kits, crappy stock bushings, stock ECU. When I switch to True Choice I will cut it down to 2:13. With the racing cams and JWT ECU, I will bring the time below 2:10. That is what racing car lap times are folks. That will be thrilling.

In the above session, I passed an S2000 coming out of the esses and after the corner. He tried to keep up, but he could not. I was thrilled and surprised. But he was running street tires. The only people that passed me were Rob/Sheening and a Mustang that had some crazy suspension custom made by Griggs Racing. I checked out the suspension on display later on and the whole stock suspension is removed including all links and arms. I talked to the owner of the car and he told me that the SVT stock Cobra suspension is junk. But the Griggs suspension made the car corner like it was on rails. Simply amazing.

That is all folks. Now the Doctor Of Trash will run his foul mouth on the Club SI message boards. Now I have all the ammunition to back up my trash talking. Please join in.
