Search Policy
If a WoodCrafter decides that they want to apply for Search, they MUST notify the Craftmaster, Craftsecond and Apprentice Master (if they're an apprentice) by +mail, not just by page, of their intention to apply for Search. Their rank must be that of either a student or an Apprentice. Jr. Journeyrank may apply as STAND ONLY candidates, only IF they have not been posted away from the hall. Consequently, if you achieve Jr. JM status, you must notify the CM and CS of your intention to apply before they begin the process of posting you away. It would be unfair to your place of posting to get you, only to have you whisked away on Search. Residents of the WoodCraft may apply at any time...but the CM, CS and Assistant Headwoman ask that you drop us a +mail of your intention. Most weyrs require this of you anyway.NOTE: Rarely do we NOT give you permission to apply. All of us know what it's like to be Searched, be a Candidate, Impress and be a dragonrider (as alts), so we will rarely stop anyone from experiencing it. We would just like to know. Most Weyrs require you to have permission from your area leaders anyway, so asking us ahead of time saves you, the Weyr, and us from embarrassment. Besides...if possible, we like to be there to RP your Search and being taken away. And we also like to go and cheer for you at the hatching!
