As soon as everything is cleared up, Malia gets to her feet, holding up her hands for silence as she begins announcements.

Malia first reports, her expression a mixture of anxiety and relief. "A Telgar rider stopped by here to report seeing a woman that matches Journeywoman Hadrina's general description in a small cothold in the mountains. However, he didn't have a chance to investigate further." She shrugs helplessly "It may be a coincidence, but I am trying to arrange for another rider to check this out"

Malia adds with a slight catch to her voice "With any luck...we'll find Haddy... safe and sound" She looks around the familiar faces of her woodsmiths. "Don't get your hopes up too far...but this is the best news we've had since word reached us of the Journeywoman's disappearance"

Malia turns to Anwyn "Master Anwyn has joined us to offer her report of Bitra Hold. If you're ready, Anwyn?"

[Anwyn(#9587)] Anwyn stands quietly. Her voice is on the quiet side, but her years as a Master as taught her how to carry. "Things go well at Bitra. The spring festival is soon, and the Hall is invited. I am contributing one of the prizes for the competitions. Also a small experiment in cross-crafting is being done."

Malia asks curiously "Cross-crafting? In what way?"

[Anwyn(#9587)] Anwyn says "Master Myriana of the Bakercraft is teaching me some of the techniques they use for their fancy vegetable carving for gathers. I'm looking at the possiblity of us developing some specialty carving tools that we could produce for their work, and giving her some suggestions. If the tools work out well, we can make an arrangement for Bakercraft to purchase them from us and the Smithcraft." She smiles wryly, "I'm also concidering making the next beginners carving class practice on vegetables before starting on wood. At least then we can eat the mistakes."

[Qinan(#9036)] Qinan grins nodding. "An interesting idea."

Malia chuckles "An excellent idea...with benefits for everyone" she says.

[Anwyn(#9587)] Anwyn smiles a bit at the praise, "That's all for my report for now."

Malia smiles at Anwyn "Thank you" she says, then begins cueing other assorted JM and Masters for their reports. After that, Malia says "Senior Apprentice Krystyna...can you come here?"

[Krystyna(#8591)] Krystyna nods and stands. She goes over to the Masters table and listens.

Malia picks up on of the knots on the table in front of her and hands it over to Krystyna. "As is our custom, and as a Senior Apprentice yourself, you will accompany our newest Senior Apprentice on her walk to your table. Please give this to Lyxia and assist her on her walk"

[Krystyna(#8591)] Krystyna smiles and takes the knot from the Craftmaster. She turns and walks over to the apprentice table. Looking at Lyxia with a smile she holds out the knot.

[Lyxia(#14740)] Lyxia smiles, taking the knot from Krysty. She nods, "Of course. " and walks to the Senior Apprentice table with Krysty.

Malia waits until both are seated and she now calls Journeywoman Ydara to the table. She hands the girl a knot and says, "Journeywoman Ydara...please accompany our newest Junior Journeyman on her walk to your table. Give Krystyna this knot and welcome her to the rank of Junior Journeywoman"

Ydara grins and nods at the Craftmaster and quickly steps over to the Senior Apprentice table. "Here ya go Krystyna" she says, giggling. "Walk with me"

Malia smiles at Krystyna "Congratulations, Junior Journeywoman" she says. "Because of Hadrina's absence at Bitra, Anwyn's need of another woodsmith, Bitra's need of another woodsmith, your subcraft of tools...Qinan and I are sending you to Bitra Hold as your posting. You will travel to Bitra within a few days."

Meeting Room ~*~ WoodCraft Hall Perfectly square, this room is dominated by a large circular meeting table which is a work of art in itself. Meant to house important craft meetings and functions, this chamber can only be described as wondrous in its design and workmanship. The four corners of this room are each occupied by a stout column, carved in the shape of a tree trunk, reaching from floor to ceiling. The ceiling itself is vaulted in a four sided pyramid to further enhance the effect. The pinnacle of the tectum is set with a circular clear glass window that provides an unobstructed view of the sky. The northern wall is set with a large glass window, which looks out onto the craft's precious hardwood groves. The acres of deciduous trees within the hardwood groves are laden with blossoms of pink and white, and tiny bright green leaves struggle out from buds on branches. This is planting time, and you can see a patch of land being refurbished with saplings from the craft nursery.
The eastern wall is graced by an enormous 'tapestry' which appears to be hung from the branches of the northeastern and southeastern "trees." The southern wall holds the double doorway that leads back into the foyer, the molding of the door supported by the southeastern and southwestern trees. The western wall sports a slightly elevated platform, perfect for usage as a dais for the master's table at craftmeets, or for the official party of a handfasting ceremony. The woodcraft banner hangs proudly between the northwestern and southwestern trees, its stylized forest-green softwood tree set on a white background. What I know about the Tree TP is that it'll be in mid October (second week?). I' ve gotten no responses for the requests for descriptions as yet. Merellia is loo king into the maze code and I recently asked her about it. She's gotten no respo nses from who she thinks owns the code and is going to try through someone else. She'll let me know.

I wish I had more to tell, but that's it for now. :)

Malia was surprised to see what Flint brought up at the most recent Craft Council meeting...that I was being restrictive in regards to promotions here at the hall. If this is the case...and anyone feels this way...I would really like to know. Qinan and I, from what I feel, are very generous in promoting. To the point of sometimes promoting people who haven't fulfilled /all/ requirements. I just want it to be known that we take a lot of things into consideration for when we promote. Activeness being the most important. But we also consider requirements reached...and a proper IC time. Qinan and I meet before every promotion dinner to discuss all the woodsmiths in the craft. We do monitor what you do...we do keep track...and we do want you to remain active and happy here. If there is anything we can do to improve this...please let us know.

[Qinan(#9036)] Qinan blinks and didn't know this btw. But we also ask people to tell us when they want to move out of a rank (ie from app to jmen, jmen to master) since it is a larger commitment and serious change in their ic char, and discounts for search and so on.

Malia would just ask that if you have /any/ problems with something Qinan or I have done...please come to us. Speaking for myself, I won't get upset. I can't change anything, explain myself, or help you if I don't know there is a problem. This system has worked ever since Anwyn and I took over the craft...so in my mind this works. Qinan and I are very approachable...and welcome any input for the good of the craft.

Malia nods "That's how we used to do it....half the senior appie'ship was spent at an IC posting. It didn't work out, though, so we abandoned it. Our sr.'s became idle...and RP wasn't happening at all..."
