TAPED BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
THE ROCK

CWA Reporter Todd Kennedy is able to catch The Rock coming into the Auditorium.

KENNEDY - Rock, you are in the Main Event tonight in the first rou...

Rock puts his hand up in front of Case's face.

ROCK - First off Todd Kennedy, are you that impatient, that annoying, that arrogant, to think that you can bother The Rock as soon as he enters the building?  Who in the blue hell do you think you are?

Kennedy doesn't say anything

ROCK - Well?  The Rock is waiting for your answer.

KENNEDY - I just thought...

ROCK - IT DOESN'T...(pauses, looking at Moss then smirks)...matter what you think Moss.  You want to know about The Rock?  You want to know what the Rock thinks about the CWA?  You want to know what I think about Shawn Michaels?  Well you sit your candy-ass over there, don't say a word, and let The Rock handle this.

Kennedy leaves off camera.

ROCK - Shawn Michaels.  The Heartbreak Kid.  The Show Stopper.  Out of wrestling for almost 5 years.  Shawn Michaels, you have beaten many of wrestling greatest.  You were the poster child for the WWF in all its glory.  But you have never beaten The Rock.  You can say what you want about all the training you have done - but the bottom line is this...you have yet to beat The Rock.  And in the end when they look back at your storied career, they will see many great accomplishments, but they will NEVER see a victory over The Great One. (looks dead into the camera and in all seriousness) If you smell what The Rock is cooking.

The Rock drops the mic and walks off camera.

The cameras go to the announcers booth as Kevin Moss welcomes us for the latest edition of Saturday Showdown as Mike Quackenbush heads down to the ring.

MOSS - After our landmark first show last week the response was unbelievable.  For myself all the way down to the wrestlers it was experience that we would never forget.  Unfortunately, one wrestler was quite upset at the result of his match last week and has requested a rematch of sorts against the man that eliminated him.

At this point, highlights are shown of Quackenbush and K-Kwik going at it from last week.  The main focus is that during the three count, Quack's left foot appears to be underneath the bottom rope.

Back to action and Quack is in the ring with mic in hand.

QUACK - Last week we had ourselves a little Battle Royal where pinfalls count as eliminations.  Now if I recall the rules correctly, if you have your foot under the bottom rope, the three count should be stopped.  Last week, that didn't happen. Now I am not going to come out here at whine and moan because I can take defeat like a man.  All I want is for K-Kwik to come out here and have a little match to settle the situation.

"Get Rowdy" starts over the loudspeakers and K-Kwik comes down to the ring dressed in his wrestling attire along with a long black protective sleeve on his right forearm. He entered the ring and accepted the handshake offered by Quack.  Quack seems concerened about the arm of Kwik, but Kwik assures him that everything is ok.

With that the bell rings to start the match.

Shiro Koshinaka v. "The Silencer" Carl Oulette

Overview:
This match was dominated from the onset when Oulette attacked Shiro before the bell and drilled a Tombstone piledriver to open the match. The next seven minutes were painful to watch as "The Silencer" systematically destroyed Koshinaka with everything he could get his hands on. Koshinaka had virtually no offense and the only damage Oulette suffered was a few missed splashes and a weak chairshot that Shiro hit him with. Outside the ring, Oulette punished Koshinaka with a metal object, then dropped him with a Samoan Drop on the cold concrete. Then Oulette climbed onto the apron and delivered a beautiful Cactus Jack style elbow onto Koshinaka on the arena floor. Oulette rolled Shiro into the ring and finished him off with his "Silencer" Senton off the top rope.

Rating: ** 1/2

Postmatch: Oulette received a superb heel reaction as he argued with the fans after the match. Medical attendants assisted with a surprisingly overmatched Koshinaka.

BACKSTAGE

Justin Credible is in his locker room lacing up his boots when a scantily clad Jasmine St. Claire enters.

ST. CLAIRE - Hey, P.J. long time no see.

CREDIBLE - (glances up, then continues on his boots) Yep.

ST. CLAIRE(irritated, steps up closer to him to make sure he notices the outfit) So whatcha you been up to?

CREDIBLE - (finishes with his boots then looks up at Jasmine) More than you can handle.

Credible turns to grab his Singapore cane out of his locker just as Blue Boy flies into the room and drills him.  The force sends Credible face first into the locker and he crumples to the floor.  Boy then grabs the cane and nails Credible over the back relentlessly.  The Cane eventually breaks and Boy drops into the ground.

BOY - (with his arm around St. Claire) Maybe now you'll take an interest in things other than sticks.

The action goes right back to the ring as introductions for the Television Title Match are beginning.

"Rockin'" Robert Gibson v. Jaime "By God" Knoble
Overview:
In a match of truly different styles, the younger and more athletic Test seemed amused at his opponents.  He dominated the 80's Rock-n-Roller and the 90's naked man throughout but it seemed that every time he had one man pinned, the other would make the save.  The two older wrestlers seemed to have a mutual understanding that Test would be their main target to eliminate first.  The double-teaming eventually got to Test as Gibson nailed him coming off of the ropes with a dropkick and Knight followed that up with the Problem Solver for the pinfall.  Knight and Gibson did not miss a beat and as soon as Test was forced out of the ring, they went at it for championship gold.  Gibson may be well past his prime, he held a clear advantage over until Test made his way back to the ring to settle some scores.  He drilled Knight with huge boot to the face then proceeded to dismantle Gibson.  All of the CWA's officials came out to restrain him as both Knight and Gibson struggled to regain their senses.  Both men staggered to their feet but it was Knight who recovered first and surprised Gibson as he nailed the Problem Solver out of nowhere for the three count to become the CWA's first Television Champion.

Triangle Match for the vacant CWA Television Title:
Dennis Knight defeated Test and Robert Gibson:  [27:13]
x Knight beat Test via the Problem Solver in 0:19:41
x Knight beat R. Gibson via the Problem Solver in 0:27:13
Rating: *
(Dennis Knight won the CWA Television Title.)

Postmatch: CWA Reporter Todd Kennedy catches Test as he is coming back from his attack.

KENNEDY - Test, what were you........(Test puts his hand in his face and shoves him to the ground)

TEST - You know something, the CWA is only 2 weeks old and I am already getting fed up with it.  First off, I have to get in the ring with a has been and a never will be.  I take it easy on them - I toy with them.  Then as soon as some freak gets lucky and hits a move, the ref makes a fast three count to get me out of the way.  This crap is getting old REAL fast - and if I have to start with two geritol drinking, old men like I did tonight, then so be it.  The CWA needs some attitude - and there ain't nobody here that's man enough to do but me.  Things will change - mark my words.

Justin Credible v. The Blue Boy
Overview:
Obviously ticked off at the locker room attack, Credible went after with a vengeance and dominated the match throughout.  Jasmine St. Claire's repeated attempts to interfere from outside the ring were useless as Credible looked more determined than he has in a long time.  The Blue Boy was battered from the onset and Credible looked to be on his way to victory after a superkick sent The Boy to the mat.  Jasmine entered and tried to drill Credible with a chair. He turned just in time to catch the attempt - then threw the chair aside and bent St. Claire over his knee and prepared to spank her.  This gave The Boy enough time to recover, grab the chair, and drill Credible over the back of the head.  The referee immediately called for the bell as The Boy and St. Claire continued to beat on the unconscious Credible.

Justin Credible defeated The Blue Boy by disqualification.  [1:53]
Rating: -3/4*

TAPED BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
SHAWN MICHAELS

That's right people, The Heartbreak Kid is back in action.  Now I hear the people say, "Shawn, why are you coming back?" and "HBK, aren't you risking being paralyzed?"  I am sick and tired of answering this question for the last four years.  I am sick of telling people I CAN'T wrestle anymore because I have two disks fused together?  I am of tired of hearing people saying I COULD have been the greatest ever if I didn't get hurt.  You think I wanted to quit?  You think I enjoyed watching my career, MY LIFE, pass me by?  Well I am here in Kansas City tonight - and I will face THE most electrifying man in sports entertainment today.  Well Rock, Shawn Michaels is the most electrifying man EVER!  And tonight, while the world my think I don't have a chance, I have one person who will always believe in me.

CWA World Heavyweight Tournament Round 1:
Cyd Killjoy v. Dustin Rhodes
Overview:
In the third of the four first round tournament matches, relative newcomer Cyd Killjoy faces off with veteran Dustin Rhodes.  Since Killjoy came from CZW as Justice Pain, most of the fans at the arena had no idea who he was.  As it turns out, he gave Rhodes everything he can handle and more.  Stunning Rhodes with jarring clotheslines and surprising agility for a man his size, Dustin was reeling and had difficulty adjusting his game plan.  Every offensive move "The Natural" attempted was met by either a miss or a counter of some kind.  Blending quickness with a very solid power attack, he managed to keep Rhodes on the defensive for most of the match.  Rhodes, the veteran that he is, did recover enough to stun Killjoy with a kick to the head after Cyd telegraphed a back body drop - but the advantage was short lived as Killjoy planted Rhodes with his Last Rights and scored the win and will face Ultimo Dragon next week in the semi-finals.  A definite upset in most people's books - Killjoy seemed determined to make people take notice of him.   Attempts to interview him afterward was met with a crude brush off.

CWA World Heavyweight Tournament Round 1:
The Rock v. "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels

Overview:
The battle of two of the greatest icons in modern wrestling today put on a grand show for the crowd.  If there was any question of Shawn Michaels having ring rust or whether or not he had been training when right out the window just a few minutes into the match.  Both men showed their technical side in the opening moments with nobody gaining a decisive advantage early.  The Rock threw the first punch as he was able to stun HBK to get the upper hand and quickly went to work on Michaels' back when he delivered a high back body drop.  In sounded like a shotgun blast as the crowd hushed waiting to see how Michaels would react.  HBK rolled over on his stomach and with a hand on his back lied motionless.  The Rock seemed concerned and he asked the ref to stop the match.  As he and the ref continued to argue, Michaels rolled back over, kipped up as the crowd exploded, and drilled Rock with a dropkick that sent HBK flying out of the ring.  Stunned, Rock tried to gather himself outside but HBK defied medical experts again by leaping over the top rope and hit a beautiful crossbody.  Michaels continued to maintain this offense for the majority of the match until Rock nailed a spinebuster.  The Rock looked to the crowd, kicked the arm and went for the elbow pad.  As the ref was checking on HBK's condition, a fan from the crowd runs into the ring and low blows him!  It's Joanie Laurer...otherwise known as Chyna!  As The Rock crumpled to the ring, Chyna made her exit.  Michaels slowly got to his feet as The Rock gathered himself using the ropes.  Micheals went for the Superkick but Rock caught it!  Rock spun him around and went for the Rock Bottom but Michaels drilled him in the midsection with a knee!  He then nailed the second Superkick attempt for the three count!  HBK advances!
