Chapter 1
"See you later, Anne. I will be back at midnight." 18-year-old Heather said to Anne coming down the stairs.
"Where are you going?" Anne asked concerned.
"Mike is picking me up and we're heading to the normal hangout downtown." Heather replied. "I promise I won't be out to late."
"Stay out of trouble." Anne said. "You don't need to be arrested again."
"I promise." Heather said seeing Mike pull up outside. "See you later."
Heather had grown up a lot over the past eighteen years. She had been in trouble with the law since she turned sixteen years old. She had been arrested 3 times already being caught with booze and cigarettes. Anne had bailed her out time and time again. It was coming down to Heather crossing the last line and Anne throwing her out. But Anne couldn't bring herself to do that.

Heather hopped into the truck and kissed Mike passionately.
"I'm surprised she let you out tonight." Mike said taking off.
"Yeah. Well, what she doesn't know won't hurt her." Heather said. "I told her we were hanging out downtown so she has no clue."
They headed to make-out alley. That's where the booze, drugs, and other things were. About 20 minutes later, they arrived. Mike parked and they climbed into the back of the truck.
"Yo, Ray! Two beers!" Mike yelled.
Ray handed them to Mike. "Enjoy."
Heather took hers and almost downed the whole bottle within minutes. By the time Mike started making out with her she had downed 5 beers. She was slurring her words.
"IIII can tell yyyou about liffffe." she said drawing out her words in a slur.
"Don't worry about it, Heather. You will feel something that you need more than anything right now." Mike said undoing her blouse.
"Hold it right there!" someone said. "Put your hands in the air!"
Mike saw the cops standing there. "Let's go."
Heather saw them and didn't move. "I'm not going anywhere!"
"Oh yes you are little girl." one of them said grabbing her arm.
"I am NOT a little girl!" Heather yelled climbing down off the truck. "Now let me go!"
"You are being taken in for intoxication." he said as he walked her to the car.
Heather hauled off and hit him square in the face. "That's for touching me."
The cop grabbed his nose, then put her in handcuffs. Heather groaned. As the car took off, she was swaying back and forth.
"Hey pull over! I'm gonna be sick!" Heather yelled.
The cop did as she told him and let her out. Heather puked in the brush. 'Oh god. Why do I do this?' she thought to herself as she got back into the car. They took her to the station and sat her in a cell to cool off.

Anne walked into the station. "I'm here to pick up Heather Jameson."
"This way ma'am." the woman officer said. "Mrs. Richardson to pick up Jameson."
"What happened?" she asked Lt. Sanders.
"She was found intoxicated with a boy Mike Williams. They were found at make out alley. She assaulted an officer by hitting him." Lt. Sanders said.
"Are there any charges?" Anne asked disappointed seeing Heather sitting in a cell.
"No. Just take her the hell home." Lt. Sanders said opening the cell. "Heather."
Heather looked up and saw Anne standing there. She knew that she was disappointed in her.
"Come on. Let's go home." Anne said.

Later that night, Heather was finally asleep. It was around nine that evening, when Anne decided to call her son Kevin in Orlando. She waited until someone answered.
"Hello?" came the response.
"Kevin? It's mom." Anne said. "I didn't wake you did I?"
"No. What's up? You never call this late." Kevin said.
"Well I was just thinking about sending Heather to you for awhile." she said. "She's got into more trouble tonight and I can't handle her anymore."
"What'd she do this time?" he asked.
"What do you think? Same old stuff. Beer, drunk, and that stupid loser Mike." she said. "So could she come stay with you for awhile."
"Yeah. I don't see why not. I'm sure she needs a change of scenery for a while." Kevin said. "So I would be glad to have her."
"Good. I'll talk to her in the morning and let you know when she's coming." she said. "Thanks son."
"No problem mom." he said.
"I love you son."
"I love you too mom." he said. "Bye."
"Bye." Anne said hanging up the phone.
She sighed. She didn't want to send her away, but it was the only way that Heather would clean up her act.
