She woke up to pounding on the door downstairs. She looked over at the clock. 5:15 A.M. it read. 'Oh shit!' she thought. She quietly removed herself from Nick's arms. Nick awoke.
"Where you going?" he asked.
She got dressed in her jeans and t-shirt. "I have to get going. Kevin is banging on the door downstairs."
Nick pulled his boxer-briefs and jeans on following her downstairs. He grabbed the present that he had gotten her. He opened the door seeing Kevin.
"Morning." Nick said.
"You guys look cozy." Kevin said. "We better get going if you don't want them to find out."
Nick handed her the present. Sarah opened it. It was a gold bracelet with heart shaped diamonds on it.
"Oh Nick." Sarah said gasping. "You didn't have to buy such an expensive gift."
"I wanted too. Besides you deserve it." Nick said. "Here. Let me put it on."
Sarah held out her left wrist and Nick placed the bracelet on it.
"I love you so, so much." she said.
"I love you too." he said kissing her. "See you later."
"You better believe it." she said.
She followed Kevin out and they got into the car. She rolled down the window.
"I love you!" she shouted.
"I love you more!" he shouted back.
They blew each other kisses and Kevin headed down the road. Nick smiled to himself. He truly found his soul mate.
Kevin dropped her off. She got out.
"Thanks Kevin." Sarah said. "I'll give you a call later."
"No problem and sure." Kevin said.
"Bye." she said.
"See ya." he said taking off down the road.
Sarah situated her bag over her head and onto her shoulder. She then started climbing up the tree and through her window. She placed the bag down on her floor and kicked off her shoes. She then changed and crawled into bed. She possibly couldn't fall asleep. She looked at the bracelet on her wrist. She grinned to herself as the song 'I Could've Danced All Night' from My Fair Lady went through her mind.
She decided to get up and shower. She didn't want her parents to find out anything from the night before. She got dressed into a fresh pair of clothes and brushed her hair out. She smiled and walked downstairs and into the kitchen. She grabbed some juice and walked into the living room. She sat down and flipped through the channels. She saw her parents walk in the door with Jennifer. She smiled.
"You guys are out early." Sarah said.
"We had an early breakfast with Jennifer and her now fiance' Bret." Linda said.
Sarah ran over to her sister. "Congratulations."
"Thank you." Jennifer said showing her the ring.
"I also got something." Sarah said showing off the bracelet.
"He's got taste." Jennifer said.
Linda caught sight of Sarah's bracelet. "Oh my gosh! You must've had a wonderful anniversary with Kevin last night."
"Yeah I did." Sarah said. "The best night of my life."
"Well I'm glad you two had a great time." Mitch said.
'If you only knew.' she thought to herself smiling. She finished her juice off and headed to the door.
"Where you going so early in the morning?" Linda asked.
"Just for a drive." Sarah said grabbing the keys. "I'll be back in time for lunch."
"Okay." Linda and Mitch said in unison.
"Would you like to come with me Jennifer?" Sarah asked.
"Yeah. Sure." Jennifer said.
Sarah and Jennifer walked out to the car.
"What happened last night to make you smile like that in there?" Jennifer asked.
Sarah smiled again. "The best night of my life. I'll just say that."
"Oh my god, Sarah! You didn't?" she questioned.
"Oh I did. And it was the best." Sarah said.
"So where are we headed anyways?" Jennifer asked.
"I figured you would want to meet him." Sarah said heading towards Nick's house.
"Oh okay." Jennifer said. "He's got taste buying that bracelet for you."
"Yeah he does." Sarah said. "I'm in love with him, Jennifer. Mom and dad have no idea either. They still fall for the bullshit that I tell them."
"That's because you tell it so good." Jennifer said.
Sarah laughed.
Sarah pulled into Nick's driveway seeing him walk out onto the porch with the fella's. She parked and turned the car off. Nick saw her and smiled. Sarah ran over to him jumping into his arms.
"Hey baby." Sarah said kissing him.
"Did you miss me that bad?" Nick asked.
"Always." Sarah said giggling.
Jennifer cleared her throat. Nick put Sarah down.
"Nick this is my sister Jennifer." Sarah said. "Jennifer this is Nick, Howie, AJ, Brian, and of course you know Kevin."
"Nice to meet you finally, Nick. Sarah never shuts up about you." Jennifer said. "Nice to meet the rest you, too."
"I can imagine what she says about him." Kevin said. "He never shuts up about her either."
Everyone laughed which made Sarah and Nick blush. Sarah noticed Howie eyeing Jennifer.
"So where ya'll headed?" Sarah asked.
"To the studio." Brian said. "We're going to do some recording."
"You girls are welcome to come." Howie said looking at Jen.
She noticed and looked down at her feet. Sarah looked at Nick.
"Even though she's engaged, I think we're going to have a new couple which isn't us anymore." Sarah whispered.
"I agree. Besides I can only imagine what your parents picked out for her." Nick said. "I mean look who they wanted you with."
Sarah hit his arm. "That's mean Nickolas."
"That's me." Nick said laughing evilly picking her up and spinning her around.
"You're a nut." she said.
"I know it." Nick said.
That afternoon the guys recorded some music with Jennifer and Sarah in the wings listening. While they were busy, Sarah and Jennifer started up a conversation.
"So I see you and Howie giving looks to each other." Sarah said.
"Yeah. What's it to ya?" Jennifer asked.
"Well I set up Michelle and AJ. I was just wondering if I had to set up you two as well." Sarah said.
"Sarah I am an engaged woman." she said.
"Yeah to a complete dork!" Sarah said.
"Hey!" Jennifer said. "He isn't that bad."
"Of course not. But wouldn't you want to be with the Latin Lover of the group? I bet you anything that he's good in bed." Sarah said smiling evilly.
"Sarah!" Jennifer said.
"Sorry." Sarah shrieked. "But it's probably true."
Jennifer got red in the face. Sarah knew she had embarrassed her.
"Awe! You're blushing." Sarah cooed. "So you wanna know?"
"Okay, so, I wanna know. What's the big deal?" Jennifer asked.
"Because you're an engaged woman." Sarah said laughing as Jennifer hit her arm.
"You are a bitch." Jennifer said.
"Glad to know ya skank." Sarah laughed.
The girls laughed harder as the boys came out of the studio.
"What's so funny?" AJ asked.
"Nothing." Jennifer said laughing harder.
"Inside joke." Sarah said.
"You guys wanna join us for lunch?" Nick asked.
"Sure." Jennifer said.
Sarah noticed Howie's eyes light up. She walked over to him.
"Lay it on thick. She's engaged to a jerk, so I want you to make her fall for you." Sarah whispered.
"That's not right, Sarah." Howie said.
"She likes you Howie, but she won't make the moves. All because of the ring on her finger." Sarah said. "You would be way better for her than her fiance'. Just do this for her and me."
Howie laughed. "Okay."
Sarah walked back over to Nick. She kissed him. "Great job."
"Thank you." Nick said.
The guys and girls headed to lunch. After lunch they parted their ways. Sarah noticed Howie and Jennifer chatting away. *Yes. My plan is working.* she thought to herself. After their conversation was through, Jen came over by her.
"Howie invited me to the cookout Saturday." Jennifer said.
"That's great. Now mom and dad won't suspect a thing." Sarah said.
"You know eventually they are going to find out." Jennifer said.
"I know, but right now, they can't." Sarah said. "Promise me you won't tell."
"I won't tell." Jennifer said.
Their pinkies locked together and they knew they had an understanding.
