Santee Cooper initiated the South Carolina Revenue Protection Council (SCRPC) on July 10th and 11th 1997. This was the first Council in South Carolina designed to pull the Revenue Protection Departments of all companies across the state together to help reduce the loss of revenue through theft of utility service. On March 5, 1998 the scope of coverage increased to include NC and SC utilities of all types. Duke Power hosted the meeting on this date and thus was born a new entity from the old, SCURPC had just become NC/SCRPC.
