Theme/Mood:
The theme of the game revolves around two fundamental principles: Change and Hope. Change happens to everything all the time. Is it better that it happen from within or from an outside influence? And what of hope? Is there hope that there is some goodness within this world of darkness? That the clouds have a silver lining and evil hasn’t corrupted this last bastion of humanity?
Are you someone that can prove it?
The mood of the game will alter from time to time, but these constants will always be present: Mystery and Passion. Without mystery, there would be no driving force for people to investigate the strange in the world, or the strange in themselves. Life would be dull again, but being Awakened, this dull world has taken on a new light. One that beckons to be followed, for the secrets it can reveal. There is also passion. Passion for life, adventure, power, all the things that humans long for and hold dear to their hearts. A Mage’s passion can keep the darkness at bay and the Quiet from overcoming them.
Are you strong enough to unlock the mysteries? Are you passionate enough to survive the trials that will come to test you?

Style:
I intend to provide the players with the type of game that will get them involved. It won’t be combat oriented, rather more political with intrigue and mysteries to figure out. At times it will be necessary to improvise and give the players something to do, especially if they are struggling with a current plotline or are getting bored by the lack of adversaries to face.
The main plot threads revolve around the players finding where the old Chantry was, before it was lost over 10 years ago and try to regain its lost knowledge and power, without it falling into the hands of the Technocracy, Marauders or Nephandi who also want it. The rarest aspect of the setting would be the Chantry itself. Its power and knowledge may be formidable and will need to be safeguarded from external threats.
Antagonists:
Venue antagonists are defined as typical Technocracy cabals.
Venue rules:
XP awarding is unaltered from Laws of Ascension, p121. (Base 1xp per game, with additional xp for exceptional roleplaying, etc.)
No variation from suggested influence setup in Prime.
The optional rule "Dynamic Magic" is used. The optional rules "Consensus Coincidence", "Fast-Casting", "Paradox Flaws", "Paradox Realms are not.
Visiting character/plot policy:
People who wish to play in the Bozeman/Belgrade Mage game will have to submit their approved character sheet and background information requested in the venue sheet 24 hours before attending the game. Exceptions to this policy may occur but will be limited to extenuating circumstances. Items brought by people from outside the area will have to be approved by their home storyteller and the Mage CSA, verified by the local CST and the approval website. Events and plotlines from outside the area that affect the area will be accepted from sanctioned games.
All sanctioned characters who enter the local area’s game will be subject to the consequences of their own actions as are the members who reside within the area held accountable.
