IC Event Locations and Times:
General Overview: September 2, 1999: Robert Barrett, Prince of Bozeman, turns up dead after sending a cryptic request for assistance to many of his acquantances. Even after his killer is found, these Kindred are faced with a void of leadership, a population explosion, and a city engaged in a cold war with the local Garou. Praxis is immediately seized by Joshua Morgann; when he loses his power to his own Republican rhetoric, his Sire, Duncan Reid steps in. After Reid is killed in a raid on a nearby city, in comes the weakling Prince Ravenna Nightshade, who eventually runs off to follow her True Love, the Autark Nosferatu Drax Nicodemus. Into the void steps the accused (and probable) Vampire Hunter Kyle Priest, and none dare conspire against him, for fear that their co-conspirators may betray them.

Bozeman in the World of Darkness is pretty much the same as in the real world, except that the population of Bozeman and the surrounding Gallatin Valley are doubled, totalling approximately 100K in Bozeman and 200K in the Valley.

The social centers of Bozeman Kindred culture are the two urban Elysia (Bozeman Public Library and Sunset Hills Cemetery). There is a rural Elysium at Blackmoore Lake, in Hyalite Canyon.

OOC Directions:
See contact info.

Theme/Mood:
Theme:
The main theme of this game is Intrigue, as the PCs try to figure out what is going on around them, and who among themselves can be trusted. Secondary themes are Paranoia and Power Struggle.

Mood:
This is a place where nothing can be taken for granted and threats abound from all sides. This is the Old West crossed with Lord of the Flies -- neonates fighting and clawing among themselves for prominence in a power structure under a Prince that none trust but all fear, while doing their level best to avoid being killed by the wildlife (Lupines) or natives (Hunters and Sabbat).

Character restrictions:
None.

Proxy rules:
As per current Cam supplement. Also, "No cheese." All incoming characters must be subject to Storyteller approval, and any found cheesy will be banned. Proxy characters must come with detailed personal history, ideology, and short term goals, along with a briefing on what action the character intends to take in Bozeman to achieve those goals. Proxied characters may die, lose status, or be irreparably harmed in a wide variety of ways. Please be aware of this when sending a proxy.

Travel risks:
Bozeman sports an international airport, and is on I-90, so characters can travel here pretty easily by air or land. Travelling off the Interstate is not recommended because of Lupines.

Challenges:
As per current Cam supplement. We encourage roleplaying over RPS-ing for social and mental conflicts, so Social Challenges to change a character's mind or emotional state are only allowed with the permission of that character's player, or at the insistence of the Storyteller.

Storyteller Information

Venue Storyteller
Name: Simon Westlake
Title: CST
Phone: 406-587-1648
Email: [email protected]
Passed Thespis (y/n): No

Style:
None specified.

Antagonists:
Venue antagonists are typical Lupine packs.

Venue rules:
XP awarding is unaltered from Laws of the Night Revised p122. (Base 1xp per game, with additional xp for exceptional roleplaying, etc.)

Initial blood pool test is unaltered from Laws of the Night Revised p106.

No variation from suggested influence setup in Prime. We are not using citywide Influence caps from LotNRev p97.

Status: Status is entirely a metagame mechanic; changes in status require an in-game information vector, and the Storyteller is the final arbiter -- he will make changes in character status according to his perception of the conventional wisdom of Bozeman Kindred.

Gear: Incindiary devices, explosives, and special ammunition are more difficult to get than in reality; we use the availability published in Prime. Firearms can be openly purchased and carried with no problem. Ordinary firearms can be more or less anonymously purchased from private individuals with no use of Influence, but unusual firearms require use of Influence, because ordinary private citizens are unlikely to have them.

Gadgetry: This game is not a gadget one. The rule is that while gadgets are allowed, any gadgetry intended to duplicate a Discipline Power against Kindred is disallowed. For instance, while video cameras are legal, a two-way camera sending a signal to a remote ghoul, who then communicates with the user, in order to effectively pierce Obfuscate is illegal. Polygraphs are fine, because they are only effective against mortals; VSAs are illegal, because they duplicate the Basic Auspex Power: Aura Reading.

Visiting character/plot policy:
ST reserves right to deny entrace of any character he feels is unbalanced to the local game.
