Venue Style Sheet

Player Information

Venue Name:
Dark Heartland/Kansas City (MO-D02)

Genre:
Changeling

Contact:
Tim Hickman, DST [email protected]

Place/Time:
2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month, preceeding the Cam-Anarch game that evening. Location varies.

Information regarding schedule can be obtained on the [email protected] email list.

IC Event Locations and Times:
The County of Life's Wheel, or mundanely, the Greater Kansas City Metro Area.

OOC Directions:
The simplest way to get to Myths & Legends is to take I 70 East to Noland Rd. Turn Left, going North on Noland Rd.

Theme/Mood:
Okay, this is the twenty-thousand dollar question for me at least. Personally, Changeling is a chance to do all the heroic/romantic stuff that the other venues don't entirely lend themselves to. If you ever wanted to be Don Quixote, Cyrano deBergerac, or D'artagnon, Changeling is the game for you. The theme is Wonder. The Mood is Boundless Possibility. Check your regular World of Darkness at the door. This is not to say that there is no darkness or despair, just that there is hope as well. After all, where would any of us be without adversity to give us character.

Character restrictions:
As per the current Cam supplement, with the exception that the Holding Background will require that the Freehold in question be outside of the County (there are already at least six Freeholds within the Greater KC area. This is more than enough) Realize game emphasis is on character interpersonal relations (i.e. intrigue/drama), not combat. Combat monsters have no-one to blame but themselves if they get bored.

Proxy rules:
As per current Cam supplement. Proxies are discouraged, but allowed for the purposes of plot development only. Proxies will be played by the storyteller in charge or a designated proxy Narrator.

Travel risks:
Travel into and out of the County of Life's Wheel is at present do more or less difficult than anywhere else.

Challenges:
No special venue rules.

Player Notes:
As the venues are approved and administered by the Domain Story Teller, any player that is a member of this Domain will use the Domain sanctioned archives and printed character sheets for any events run at the Domain level. If there is a dispute to any information in the database or on the sheet the Archivist must be informed to allow the Archivist the chance to research or explain the discrepancy. Players at anytime may appeal to the DST, the VST, or the CST of their chapter, if the discrepancy can not be resolved.

Any player that is a member of this Domain that enters a challenge without an approved Domain character sheet will relent to any challenges.

Storyteller Information

Venue Storyteller
Name: Tim Hickman
Title: DST
Email: [email protected]
Passed Thespis (y/n): Yes

Style:
None specified.

Antagonists:
The primary antagonists at present are a secret cabal of Changelings with dark designs for the County. Secondary antagonists are a number of Autumn People (i.e. mortals).

Venue rules:
XP awarding follows the guidelines from Shining Host p118, except that the base award is 2xp instead 1xp due to game frequency. (Base 2xp per game, with additional xp for exceptional roleplaying, etc.)

All Changeling Characters will, at the beginning of each session, test with the designated Glamour Narrator to determine their starting Glamour for the game session. On a win, they are at full Glamour. On a tie, they are at one less Glamour. On a loss, they are at two less Glamour. If the Character has an established Musing or Ravaging Threshold they may make one retest. On a loss of the retest, in addition to the effect on starting Glamour, the character is subject to the following effects: Musing, the character is one step closer to Bedlam, if the character is already in one of the stages of Bedlam, they move closer to the next stage. Ravaging, the character gains temporary Banality equal to their Permanent Banality, this must be dealt with as Banality is normally, it does not go away at the end of the session. Characters may use appropriate Backgrounds (i.e. Dreamers, Holding) to replenish their Glamour/remove their Banality with discussion with the Glamour Narrator.

No variation from suggested influence setup in Prime.

Visiting character/plot policy:
Visiting characters must be approved by the Venue Storyteller before entering play. This will require a typed background of at least one page, but no more than one page plus one page for every level of Storyteller approval required for the Character. A brief, concise background please. Visiting plots, - including characters who have managed to cause major regional or national plots must be approved by the Venue Storyteller by e-mail before the date of the game. This will require an e-mailed plot background with synopsis.
