IC Event Locations and Times:
Varies.

OOC Directions:
Varies. Please contact coordinator for current location and directions.

Theme/Mood:
"Welcome dear children of Caine to the middle of the middle. This is Hays a lonely city of 150,000 and I wish my dear friends I could say a boring city, but you all know this is not true. The Sabbat and the Camarilla constantly battle for this ground but as soon as one wins the battle they often forget why they wanted it and abandon the city leaving only wreckage and breaches in their wake. The kine in the city grow suspicious and the kindred that make this their home grow weary of the constant Camarilla-today-Sabbat-tomorrow nature of Hays. As they step forward into the moonlight to forge stability, the new Camarilla influence in the city finds the Sabbat gone?! Why would they leave? On the other hand, if they did not leave what removed them? Even as the kindred of the city search for answers to these questions, more are posed? Is the world of darkness only one puzzle after another? Maybe so.."

Character restrictions:
None.

Proxy rules:
Proxied characters are accepted but only if there are strong IC and OOC reasons for the proxy. All proxies are to be sent at least 1 week prior to game accompanied by both IC and OOC reason why player can not be there. It is left up to the CST as to final judgement whether a proxy will be allowed or not.

Travel risks:
Hays has clear access from I-70 and there is a regional airport. This is the wilds and the lupines are a clear and constant danger. Kindred who are extremely cautious have few problems. Those that aren't, end up building the reputations of lupines. There are a few true Autarkis Gangrel scattered around Kansas. Stopping for the day outside of Hays may or may not put you in one of their terrorities and they are very touchy of their personal domains.

Challenges:
No special rules.

Storyteller Information

Venue Storyteller
Name: Gwen Richeson
Title: CST
Phone: 785-625-8167
Email: [email protected]
Passed Thespis (y/n): No

Style:
All manner of role-playing is acceptable for this venue, however mysteries and the solving of those are much preferred to the queen of heart's tactics.

Antagonists:
The NPC antagonists in the venue will be mostly mortals and kindred. There may be the occasional pack of lupines. Eventually tho I hope to see that the need for NPC antagonists will diminish as the city forms and start feeding upon itself and the PCs attempt to gain status and power from and over each other. Venue antagonists are typical lupine packs.

Venue rules:
XP awarding, as per LotNRev p122, but with a base of 2xp instead of 1xp. (Base 2xp per game, with additional xp for exceptional roleplaying, etc.)

Initial blood pool test is unaltered from LotNRev p106.

No variation from suggested influence setup in Prime.

Visiting character/plot policy:
All characters must comply with 5.1 rules for traveling characters. In addition, two days prior notification via e-mail from the storyteller tracking the character would be appreciated, but if this is not possible that is understandable just make sure and bring a character sheet signed by your CST. If you take the time to drive to our city I am not about to deny you access to our little game for forgetting to send an email.

Out of town players are encouraged to join in the fun that is Hays, but do remember that every game has the possibility of any character ending up ash. It is not personal and no one will target your character because you are from somewhere else.

Style of Play
3.5: Intrigue (politics and negotiation)
2.5: Action (combat and challenges)
5.0: Mystery (enigmas and investigation)
4.0: Drama (ceremony and characterization)
3.0: Darkness (probability of player character death or corruption)

(1-No content of this type, 2-Minimal (usually player introduced), 3-Occasional, 4-Consistent (available every game), 5-Focus of Game.)
