COUNTESS OF ESSEX GOWN (2004-5)
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RENAISSANCE PLEASURE FAIRE
Description: Deep Blue brocade with burnished copper, hatched dupioni silk. The bodice (based on the Armada Portrait) has side lacings with long (mid-calve length) hanging oversleeves that are blue brocade with changeable taffeta interiors. The hanging sleeves and the inner copper sleeves are attached to the bodice while gold filiment ribbon and are tied into the top of the armhole under the shoulder peplum.
The skirt is has an overskirt in the brocade and a forepart of the copper silk. The whole gown is beaded with Swarovski crystals, glass jewels and real copper pearls. The bottom is edged in blue velvet.
