PIRATES ON THE LOOSE

other line was: " The number you are calling is no longer in service.."
This has not stopped the NCPCC from searching for the right person who would finally catch these pirates on the loose…    Can CIDG do the job? So lets cross our legs..err..fingers and watch out for the next NCPCC Edition. If we get lucky the next issue might be entitled:
       "The Search is Over"

( and no one seems to stop them….)

The question is: Who should enforce the law and put an end to the proliferation of pirated CDs/VCDs in Naga City?
The NCPCC went an extra mile to shed light to the problem and address the clamor of the businessmen in downtown Naga.
In a meeting of the NCPCC at the Vice-Mayor's Office sometime in February, the NBI was invited and was represented by Atty. Magdaraog, with the understanding that the NBI is the agency deputized to enforce and act on the matter. Letters to formalize the request of the Council to conduct enforcement were sent to NBI Acting Regional Director Medardo G. de Lemos and

VRB Chairman Bong Revilla, respectively. That same month, the NBI forwarded the letter of the Council to the VRB with a request for assistance and for a possible joint operation. But days and months passed yet the VRB has not replied. The NBI cannot act without VRB's assistance…
The question now is: "Who are we going to call?"  Definitely, not the Ghost Busters! So Kgd. Grageda called up VRB Chairman Bong Revilla sometime in May. And a follow up call to the same number only proved that promises are made to be broken because this time the reply from the

Question: What is the height of
                 globalization?
Answer: Princess Diana's death
Question: How come?
Answer:  An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was high on Scottish whiskey, followed closely by Italia Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles, treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines! And a Malaysian, using Bill Gates' technology, which he stole from the Japanese, sent this information to the author through her email address. And she has probably read, accessed and encoded this on one of the IBM that use Taiwanese-made chips, and Korean made monitors, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant, transported by lorries driven by Indians, hijacked by Indonesians and finally sold in the Philippines by Chinamen!    GLOBALIZATION!!!

pected to help the NCPCC function most effectively. We cannot simply shop around for the things, goods and products that we need but must be always on alert in scrutinizing the price and quality of the same. As we encounter possible offenses and violations, we cannot simply verbalize these or run towards the nearest radio station to complain although this can also help. The more recommendable procedure is to formally submit your complaint to us or to our Secretariat, which is the Department of Trade and Industry, and pursue the same to its final conclusion by way of the corresponding sanctions.
As time passes by, it will be noted that we have individually, or as a group expanded our service to our constitu

ents as evidenced by our manifestation of concern over the rates and services of public utility offices and companies like the electric cooperatives, water service and those engaged in communication services because of the obvious need of our consumers to have some people to lean on in times of crisis like our present economic situation. We are exerting much effort in trying to gain some specialization and expertise on all these concerns, but we can be successful only with the cooperation of   everyone.
