 Biography:

I was born on the Naval Air Station in Subic Bay, Philippines. My father is retired Navy of 25 yrs. service. Over the time while I was alive during his service we lived in Texas, Virginia, Cuba, and his final post in Spain. My ambitions toward Meteorology fostered itself in me over the years visiting my father in the weather office (20 of his 25 yrs were spent on aviation weather), helping his command with base functions, and seeing what he and others in the command worked on. I honestly was not sure I would pursue meteorology whole heartedly till my junior year of high school when I asked myself, besides theater and singing what did I want to do that would be solid and that I enjoyed. It then came to me like a rush all the years I had watched my father and others work and the rapid changing and ever evolving field in which he worked and then I knew that I wanted to be a meteorologist. My plans are to get my BS Meteorology and become a commissioned officer in the US Air Force, do 25 yrs, work toward my higher degrees when I can and while Im in, hopefully ending my 25 yrs of service with my PhD. I originally hoped to gain employment with Jet Propulsion Laboratory working with NASA on the Mars Terraforming Project after retirement. Now my thoughts have taken me toward Hurricane research while Im in the USAF hopefully on the Hurricane Hunter Squadron. Also after retiring now I have thought of teaching at the college level. The funniest thing about all of my ambitions is that Mathematics was never my strong suite in school, but that has only made me more determined. So yeah I am also the first VP of this organization which is really exciting cause Adam and I have some big plans and ambitions for this group and we are both working hard to see they come to fruition.

Edit (10/22/06): As of now I have edited my profile since it was created, the italicized items are new. Also many of the ambitions and goals that Adam and I had set out to accomplish have come to fruition and many others have taken their place. We are very fervently working on upgrading the status of our forecast lab to serve an integral and primary function in our area. Many other goals persist as Adam and I finish our tenure here at Northland College.
