The Falsettoland idea came from one of my favorite musicals, Falsettos. The story is about a married man that discovers he's gay and his attempts to weave his child, his wife, and his lover into a new type of family. The reason that the story always appealed to me is because a few changes, the story is largely the same as mine.

Like Marvin in the story, I came out to my wife of 20 years over 8 years ago. We had some rough times, but made it through. We realized that we had two options; we could either split or try to create a new type of relationship. Even though I'm gay we still love each other and love being a family with our 16 year old daughter, so we chose to try to stay together. So far we've made it.

There have been a lot of changes in our lives over the years, but we've learned that getting through them has made us stronger. I've recently ended a 6 year relationship with another man, and it was gratifying to see that my family felt the loss just as I did. Our lives may seem odd to many people, but it is a situation that works for all three of us.

This web page is definitely a work in progress, and I've hacked off several sections due to changes in my life and to take care of dead links, etc. Hopefully soon I'll have things back up and running as they should be. If you have any suggestions that you'd like to suggest, please let me know.
