While the NCMSS has arranged for on-site catering throughout the day (Vie de France has again indicated that they will provide--at modest cost--coffee, tea, juices, and a range of breakfast pastries, as well as a package lunch of a sandwich, soda, and chips), those attending the show who may be interested in other dining venues will find plenty of choices nearby. A large number of restaurants and fast food shops are located a short distance west of the Northern Virginia Community College campus. (Turn left at the traffic lights as you leave.)
There's a Pizza Hut about a mile away, and behind that is a very popular steak and seafood place called Squire Rockwell's Restaurant and Lounge (www.squirerockwells.com) at 8700 Little River Turnpike.
FAIR CITY MALL An older shopping center located 2.5 miles from the campus on Route 236-W (Little River Turnpike) on the right. 50 stores include China Star, Jerry's Subs & Pizza, Old Country Buffet, McDonald's, Wendy's, and more. Hobby Works and Total Crafts also have stores inside the mall.
PICKET SHOPPING CENTER Also located 2.5 miles from the campus, directly across the street from Fair City Mall. Offers Einstein Brothers Bagels, Subway, and Blue Ocean Japanese restaurant.
MAIN STREET MARKETPLACE Located four miles from the campus on Route 236-W (Main Street) on the right. Offers the Coyote Grill & Cantina, Quizno's Subs, Starbucks, and Noodle & Co.
FAIR OAKS MALL Located seven miles from the campus at the intersection of Route I-66 and Route 50. Fair Oaks is one of the largest shopping centers in the state, with over 180 stores. Offers the American Cafe, Taco Bell, Bamboo Hut, Popeye's Chicken, Arby's, Dairy Queen, Bennigan's, Sbarro's, Burger King, Uno's Chicago Grill, and Todai Japanese Seafood restaurant.
