DOOR PRIZES & DONATIONS FOR TROOPS OVERSEAS

This year the NCMSS will have a number of interesting items available as door prizes. The main drawing will be for a 54mm scale Western figure entitled "El Comanchero", painted by the late Bob Knee of Atlanta.

Donate Hobby Items for Troops Overseas

Share History Through Miniatures With Marines That Make It

Do you have some historical miniatures or models sitting in your closet that you know you will never get around to building? Here is a chance to thin out that stash a little bit while doing something great for Marines and other service members serving overseas. The new National Museum of the Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia will have representatives at the NCMSS show to accept donations of unbuilt figures or other models. Your donated items will be sent along with other collected models to Marines and other members of the US armed forces deployed to Iraq.

The models you donate will permit them a few hours of relaxation and enjoyment by participating in a hobby that so many of us love. Its a great way to say thanks for their service while promoting interest in history and historical miniatures.

If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, you can bring any of the following items for donation:

- Unassembled plastic model kits: figures, airplanes, tanks, ships, cars/trucks (any scale)
- Modeling supplies: X-Acto knives/blades, sandpaper, glues, decal sets, etc.
- Model paints: acrylic paints only please!

Simply bring your items to the National Museum of the Marine Corps table. They will be located in the vendor area. Besides collecting models, the volunteer docents will be happy to chat with you about their wonderful museum. See you there!
