Article IV: Elections

.The ability of the people to vote freely for their leaders is a fundamental right of all Americans. This ability shall not be infringed upon in any way.
.Congressional districts should be designed in such a way that they each include an equal number of citizens. Districts should not be allowed to cross county lines unless they are to include the entire bordering county. Gerrymandering must not be allowed in any form or fashion.
.The current party system in North Carolina prevents minority groups from being accurately represented. There needs to be reform in the registration system required for Third Parties, making it easier for them to get on the Ballot.
.We support an independent Judiciary. Judges should be elected by the people, but awards longer terms than they are currently. Judges, and the interpretation of the law, should not change with the ebb and flow of popular opinion.
.Judicial elections should remain Non-Partisan. Issues, beliefs, and experience should determine judicial positions, not party affiliation.
.We support Campaign Finance Reform. Limiting donation amounts to a specific campaign prevents the candidate from being slave to large donors.
.We oppose public funding for political campaigns.
