****4 Stars and a "Tantalizing" rating from Simply Ebooks!
This book is filled with exciting places, strange aliens, and even stranger customs. The characterizations of Kerra and Aden are rich and detailed, with several strong secondary characters who deserve their own story. The pace is smooth and the action fast. I found the story entertaining and very hard to put down. A recommended read.

Kerra Telsier can't live the life that's been made for her. So she erases it, and makes arrangements to lose herself in space. Her employers put a bounty on her head, hoping to recover their genius biochemist and put her to work creating the perfect, and perfectly programmable human.

Aden Locke is an angry man marooned planet-side. His archenemy has just taken his hip, and is making plans to go after Aden's friends. An improbable request from Kerra gives him the chance to go after his enemy and save his friends, and in the process he finds himself working with a talented partner.

Neither of them expects the surprising passion that develops and grows as they spend time together. Neither of them can anticipate the danger they, and their friends, will face as they alternately run from and then chase the man who will stop at nothing to destroy Aden. And ultimately, neither of them can imagine life without each other.

INTO THE FIRE takes romance on a planet-hopping spree. The bond between Kerra and Aden is well developed, even though they go through rather predictable phases of "should I"/ "shouldn't I" as they come to terms with their love for each other. The secondary characters add some interesting color to the already fantastical landscape of the setting...this is an entertaining romance ebook.

Futuristic romances work best when they are filled with adventure and excitement, and INTO THE FIRE is a perfect example of one that really works. The pace in this absorbing tale is just the right speed - fast enough to keep up the interest level, but not too fast to lose the interesting detail Ms. McPhee has included of other worlds and species. And, however engrossing the settings, this story never ceases to be a wonderfully romantic love story between two well-developed and likable characters. The secondary characters are also finely woven into the story - especially Emarr Dengas, who, despite
his peculiar skin tone, is interesting enough to warrant being the main protagonist in a future novel.

For a most enjoyable and satisfying romance that is "out of this world", I heartily recommend INTO THE FIRE.

INTO THE FIRE is one heck of a thriller sci-fi story that never lets you go for a minute. I was totally captivated from page one until the end. Norma McPhee is a fabulous storyteller who has created some marvelous characters in a super duper plot that is quite intriguing, and spellbinding. In fact, I can't wait to see what she is going to come up with next! There's a bevy of compelling characters that will make excellent heroes and heroines for future books...Ms. McPhee has created a fantastic love story with enough sexual tension to cause some damage in space <grin> and then some. INTO THE FIRE is a perfect combination of thrilling adventure and romance rolled up in a magic space ship ride into the future with plenty of fire and ice...What a knockout of a book. Don't miss it! If you've been wondering whether to invest in an E-book, take the plunge now and I have a suspicion you will be hook thereafter.

INTO THE FIRE is a spectacular, exciting, fast moving science fiction story with a excellent romance included. It has a remarkably involved plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed the fact that the author didn't try to create a universe with new rules. I've read a lot of science fiction and this story made me feel like I was once again visiting a familiar place. Familiar, yes, but with unique characters and locations. I liked the hero and heroine a lot. I particularly liked the respect they showed for one another. I loved the secondary characters who peopled this universe, especially the ones the hero and heroine have close contact with. They are so real and so interesting, I felt I would not be surprised to meet them one day. I wanted to hurry and finish this tale and yet was sorry when it was over. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys a good science fiction romance with swashbuckling excitement as an added dividend.
