Try
as he(we) might, Dave could not make his
Scimitar go away from his neighbours
drive and after a lot of thought I
finally buckled - and bought it from him,
for a most reasonable price I must add.
I was ready to
chop it up for parts but my better half
said "Aww - poor thing" - so I
thought, a wash won't do any harm, then a
bit of wax, then a big bit more, then get
the motor going, then take it for a
little spin, then - ohhh - save me, I'm
falling - that sound!
|
One member of the
family had no problem with the
smell of the damp mouldy
interior.
|
|
And even my
firstborns nose would put up with
it just for a sit behind the
wheel.
|
|
Hold on, that's not
quite right - what the ell is
that in there.
The Answer is 3.5
litres of rover V8 - SD1 heads,
some other fancy cam bits, remote
oil filter, power steering 5
speed box.
OMG!

|
A stiff wash only
served to reveal how dull the
paint was.
Half a bottle of
colourwax made things a bit
better though.

|
This is where the
body gets real bad, some nasty
splurges of - something, some
scratches, a just visible join in
the wing, and some crazing to
rival a roman bath house.
I wanted to try my
hand at GRP - now is my chance.
|
|
I have to say I am
not too keen on sorting this lot
out though.
When removed there
was 1/2" of water in each
well. This has been steaming the
interior of this car for months.
I think there may
be new forms of life in there.
|
|
I am told this is
not a nice addition to the garden
area?
What a bloke, will
I ever learn.
|
|
Oh, and I guess
there will have to be some bumper
effort here. I may be able to lay
my hands on a second hand one but
I will have to find the rocking
horse first.
|
|
I don't know what
it is but there is something
about that car that the cat just
- likes
|
|
Looks quite nifty
with the bumper fixed and
replaced
