"WE CANNNOT BECOME WHAT WE NEED TO BE BY REMAINING WHAT WE ARE." |
Hi, my name is Mrs. Burr, and I am the Student Management Center Coordinator. SMC is a place where you go to examine classroom behavior in which you have made some bad choices. We learn to grow from our mistakes and develop our character. Character does what is right--not what is easy. Character is controlled by values--not moods. Character looks for solutions--not excuses! Our motto is, "You made a bad choice, but you're not a bad kid." |
What's new in our class? |
The Student Management Center emphasizes the following principles of character education. (1) Your character is defined by what you do, not by what you say you believe. In other words, ACTIONS speak more loudly than words. (2) EVERY CHOICE you make helps define the kind of person you are choosing to be. (3) Good character requires doing the RIGHT thing even when it's not popular. (4) You don't have to adopt the worst behavior of others as a standard for yourself. You can CHOOSE to be better than that! (5) What YOU do matters, and one person can make a big difference! |
