The
SPANISH CLUB
Topsail High School
What is our goal? To use our knowledge and love of Spanish to help our growing Hispanic community and to experience Spanish culture whenever and wherever possible.

How will we attain this goal?
The club will adopt several Hispanic families during the holidays and raise money and/or goods to provide these families with various needs and wants during Thanksgiving and Christmas.  The club will plan trips to festivals, theatres, etc. as events present themselves over the course of the year.  Events that have already popped up include:

The Annual Latino Festival  November 1st  Hugh McRae Park
Ballet Folklrico   November 14th  Thalian Hall
           SPAIN     Summer 2005  Seewww.eftours.com

Keep your eyes and ears open for any other events taking place locally so that we might participate.  Suggestions are always welcome!

Who can be a member? We have to limit membership to forty (40) people33 students, 5 officers and 2 advisors.  To maintain membership, one must not miss more than (2) meetings per semester.

Who are the officers and what are their responsibilities?

PRESIDENT:  The president will oversee the efforts of the other officers and report regularly to Mrs. Hatfield and/or Mrs. Luft with progress or problems.  This individual will help particularly with the raising of monies and goods and must be willing to spend some time after school to do so.

VICE PRESIDENT
:  The vice president will be in charge of event planningparticularly when planning our trip abroad.  This person should seriously be considering traveling with the club in the Summer of 2005 and thus may not be a Senior.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
:  The administrative assistant will maintain the attendance lists for each meeting and event and will be asked to type thank you letters etc.

PUBLICIST
:  The publicist will publicize each meeting and event by writing up an announcement for the loudspeaker and the schools television.  The publicist will also create posters to advertise events etc. throughout the school.

ACCOUNTANT
:  The accountant will oversee the handling of monies and goods and will aid with fundraising via ideas and organizing thereof.
