The INTERNATIONAL CLUB of Topsail High School |
What is our goal? To experience a variety of cultures as they exist within our community. How will we attain this goal? A majority of our experiences will be with international foods but opportunities to see films and plays or to attend fairs and other cultural events may present themselves. Suggestions are always welcome! Who can be a member? We have to limit membership to forty (40) people34 students, 4 officers and 2 advisors. To maintain membership, one must attend a minimum of three (3) events per semester and sign an attendance sheet EACH time. Who are the officers and what are their responsibilities? PRESIDENT-_Kenny B._: The president will oversee the efforts of the other officers and report regularly to Mrs. Hatfield and/or Mrs. Luft with progress or problems. EVENT COORDINATOR-_Matt V._: The event coordinator will consult with the other three (3) officers, Mrs. Hatfield, and Mrs. Luft to decide where the next event will take place. They must call the restaurant and make reservations at least one week in advance and call on the day of the event to confirm the reservation and the exact number of students attending. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT-_Henry C._: The administrative assistant will maintain the attendance lists for each event and write thank you notes to restaurants etc. PUBLICIST-_Traci M._: The publicist will publicize each event by writing up an announcement for the loudspeaker and the schools television. The publicist will also create a sign-up list and a map with directions in the main office. |
